Acutally, last night when I went to go get my hair cut... I was looking through a magazine, and saw that the new DVD was avaliable to order. I got all excited and called right then and there while my hair was being cut. It was kinda hard for computer to understand me sometimes (signal kept going in and out...).

For those of you who havn't ordered it.. I'm sure you can get it online but the number from the advertisement is:
1-800-447-2948

And, they used to be called vacation planning videos, but now they are killed vacation planning kits... I know, I know.. no big differance, but I thought it was kinda interesting.

Enjoy your DVD's (and vidoes) whenever you get them! :D

I ordered mine last night as well, even though I work here. I order it, then give it out to family members who are gonna come here, so they can get a taste of what they are going to look forward to. Im trying to get most of my family from NY to come and visit me down here, with the whole Magical Gatherings thing going on. Hopefully itll work, or I at least convince them when I go and visit in November.

I saw something about it in our Lion King DVD, but I thought it was the same DVD I got a few months ago. Does anyone know if this one is any different?

Wondering...

I was wondering the same thing, regardless, I will still enjoy it. I am sure that it will include M:S and Mickey's Philharmagic 3-D and the new Pop Century resort in the great, but brief video.

:sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

 for now...

Ya,whenever I opened my Lion King DVD, I thought the same thing and wasnt going to order one.

Like I said, I was waiting to get my hair cut... was looking through a magazine and saw it. It looks totally different from the one shown in the little savings book.

The DVD in the advertisment didn't look like it was nice a nice plastic case like the ones from last year though. It just looked like cardboard.

Oh well... I guess we'll find out...

I really hope they have Mission Space on there.. its such a great ride! :D

edit: whenever I get home (I'm in school right now) I'll scan the picture that was on the advertisement.. since I sorta swiped it.. lol

The number you gave is different then the one in the Lion King (1.800.205.7006) The Lion King one looks like the one I have (with where magic lives and the caslte on the cover.)

It is worth a try. I will call for it and if I get 2 I can give one away.

Thanks for the info.

On topic: I just ordered the DVD from the WDW website. It'll give the kids something to watch on our drive down in December.

Off-topic: DisneyPhD, everytime I see your Avatar I look out my window towards campus and chuckle...I must have one...it'll be a hit in the office (I work about two blocks from North Campus off Plymouth Rd).

I can place it between my Tigger picture frame and my UofM picture frame.

Yeah, I think the Lion King one is the same, too. Perhaps if you call them they can send you the new new one! Just a thought! Maybe try online?

Ok I called the number monorail256 listed. Boy was that werid. No pressing numbers, just talking to a computer that may (or many not) understand you. Hope the new DVD is great. (I love those.) Thanks for the info. I will let you know if a few weeks if we get it. (remember the fuss over that last WDW planing DVD?

MichRX7, the sent me (my hubby really) a add for that little guy, I think as U of M alumni. Funny because at 1st we thought they sent it to us as Disney fans, not U of M. I wonder how many different schools they did. We scaned it in and added the Disney PhD part. This was about a year ago. I wonder if the U of M alumni web site would know anything about buying one.

We don't make it over the Ann Arbor too often. Hubby works at School Craft College in Livonia.

Hi Crazygirley

Alright, Im home from school (finally!!). I managed to scan both of the advertisments from both the magazine and the Lion King instant savings booklet. The links for the pics are below...

DisneyPhD: I thought the same exact thing whenever I called the number! I actually got a little frustrated because one part of my address is 130-A and the computerized woman kept trying to tell me I was saying "1-3-0-8-0"... maybe its just not used to letters in addresses? Oh well.. happy I could help ya out.

Tommy@SWA: As the description in the picture says.. of all magazines for me to be looking in.. I found it in Ladies Home Journal. Hair places never have guy magazines... except the place I go to actually has "EGM" (electronic gaming monthly) which is pretty cool.

Alright.. to the pics.. lol
WDW Vacation Planning KIT picture from magazine
sorry about the clarity and the condition of the picture. I kinda crumpled up the paper and threw it away.. but luckily found it.. :D

WDW Vacation Planning DVD/VHS from Lion King 'Instant Savings' Packet

Ahhhh 22 days till I once again return to Disney!

The vacation planning videos are made for different age groups. Try ordering one and entering your birth year as 1930 and you'll get a much different version. I did that last time and got a version without the usual host and featuring lots of gray-haired testimonials. I'm not sure how many versions there are.

Ok so after I placed my order call I got Parenting Mag for Nov in the mail and it had a add and postcard for a vacation planning kit in VHS or DVD for families with preschoolers. I don't know if I should call and order this too, or if that is what they will be giving me since I told them I have a 2 year old. My friend is going to call and order it, I will see if we get the same one.

I would post the number (it is different) but the mag is at home and I am at work. I will do it later.

Someone really needs to investigate this and make a FAQ. I already ordered a DVD with my actual birth year (1977) a few days ago. That hasn't arrived yet. Now that I've read this, I'm more than a little obsessed with getting every version.

Just now, I tried to order one as a 16 yo (1987). All I got was this message: "Sorry. We are unable to process your order." I then tried to order one as a 65 yo (1938). This time, it worked.

Now, I won't know whether or not different versions of the Magical Gatherings DVD have been made until I get both. In the meantime, I'm trying to think of different age groups to try. Would a 30 yo get a different version than a 26 yo would? Is there an unwritten minimum age to order these things? Should I try playing an 18 yo (1989) at the risk of getting a DVD hosted by some Disney Channel icon?

We started getting different ones once we had a child. Before that it was all couples saying how great it was to go alone. I think there might be a different one for grandparents and kids too. So I am not sure if it is different age groups as much, no kids, kids, grand kids.

I feel the same way. I want to have them all. I remember one year they sent CD roms. You set it when you started the program, but it contained all 3 versons. We looked at them all manually.
