From Allears, which quotes from "The Making of Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park by Melody Malmberg, 1998"

As work on the park progressed, projections of attendance were revised upward, and a new attraction was needed. A popular feature of Disney's other theme parks is the opportunity to meet characters. The designers of Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park knew they couldn't include Mickey Mouse or Minnie Mouse in Africa or DinoLand U.S.A.; they be out of context.

This would've made more sense to see Jim Henson's DINOSAURS in DINOLAND! If no one knew who they were...Who Cares..They fit the bill for theming.

What a fantastic 90s program at a theme park still stuck in the 90s. I have a video of that mini-parade and the Turtle meet and greet somewhere.

Enclose Primeval Whirl... retheme...and a few effects (light/sound)...make it darker....and you'd have an awesome ride
Better yet, buy a bunch of Oxy cutting torches. Disney Institute could branch out and offer courses in structural demolition.

I guess a dance party is better than a $5 game of whack a mole....right....?

When we visited DAK we completely didn't even bother to visit dinoland... It wasn't worth our time.
