New Voices of Liberty costumes will debut during the International Festival of the Arts and will be worn year around, except during the holidays.

Here's a look at the new costumes:

I'm a bit torn. They read a little more fantasy than Americana. But, I don't dislike the idea at all. I just wish it drew from a little more obvious references given the location/use case. I'll be interested to seeing them in person. (I'll admit I love costume/story telling fashion, so I know I may have a bit different standard than most.)

And, it's a VAST improvement over the current iterations. These are solidly in the B/B+ range for me - not the D range of the current "choices".

After the Holidays costume fiasco, I’ll reserve judgement until we see what they look like when worn.
What holiday costume fiasco? When I was there, they were in period costumes, something they used to wear year round. If you're going to throw out something like this, please provide a photo of your "fiasco".

That's the current costumes? Good lord, high school choir uniforms have more flair.

At least the new ones look nice on the fitting dummy.
To clarify for everyone, the garland may be throwing everyone off. These are not the holiday costumes but the ones they wear during the year... until now.

I believe the current red white and blue costumes were worn on 4th of July when the voices would perform outside in the American gardens - when the voices came back from Covid they were outside.

not sure what decisions were made when but that may help connect some dots.

New costumes don’t look bad.

A minor bit better than now, still cheap and ugly in comparison to what it used to be-

Basically went from an A+, to an F-, to a C-. So yeah, not inclined to give too much praise for this considering it's still worlds away from what they once were.
Yeah, I was thinking the exact same thing.

Major improvement over the current ones but that's an incredibly low bar.

I'm guessing a lot of people here either forgot what they used to wear which was meant to represent a few different periods or never saw those older costumes.

I'm sure these are probably a lot more comfortable (and cheaper) but... they're costumes... for performers who only perform for limited periods and basically always indoors in those costumes so I don't know that comfort, assuming the old ones weren't downright painful, should necessarily be a major consideration.

Also, the whole sustainability angle is, I guess admirable but feels a little forced into this release, doesn't it? Does this mean all the cast outfits could be made more sustainably but currently aren't and will we be getting a press release for each uniform they upgrade to new materials?

That part just feels like grasping for a way to add another positive to it, maybe as a way to counter those annoying people like us who remember the more elaborate look of the 60/40 virgin poly-cotton blend the older ones must have been made from? 🤷🏻‍♂️
