There are already a number of threads going on meal vouchers. Just use the search function and you will find allot of info on them.

Hi, msaveley welcome to the boards.

If you want the full Disney experience, I would recommend staying on-site. Yes a house might be better for accommodating more people, but the traffic getting in and out of the parks during busy times can be a pain. Staying on property gives you the option of using the buses to go to and from your resort freely without a hassle. Not sure if you have looked into this, but you might want to. WDW frequently runs deals for their resorts, so you might be able to get a couple of rooms for the same rate as an offsite house.

Sorry if I sound like a salesman/commercial! I just love the whole magical atmosphere you get staying on property. I have not stayed off property in over 10 years.

Traffic has never been a problem for me staying off site. We stay in the Formosa Gardens area by the old Splendid China. It only takes 5 minutes to get on property. I have never used the vouchers so I can't offer much help. What I can say is having your own kitchen is a great way to save on spending money. We usually prepare and eat a big breakfast before we head out in the morning. Snack or eat a light lunch while at the park and then prepare a few dinners back at the house to enjoy out by the pool. We save a good amount of money on food doing this. Thats my 2 cents... Welcome to the boards and have a GREAT trip !! :sohappy: :sohappy:

Yeah, I agree with brich. Having your own kitchen helps minimizing cost a lot!!!! Staying on property is awesome, though... So if you can afford it, I would advise you to do so. The all star resorts are cheaper, and you can have a fridge and microwave in your room, which would help with the money thing.

Welcome to the boards!!!!

Two years BC - that's 2006 or so years ago! Damn, I've heard of planning ahead, but that's incredible

OK - pedeantic joking aside, I'm a budget person and so stay offsite. I get good last minute deals from the UK that WAY undercut anything Disney can offer. All hotel rooms look the same when you are asleep, so don't feel you are missing out on anything.

Most of the meal vouchers you read about are left overs from someone else's package vacaction and are sold on ebay. You can take the risk if you want, but there is a chance you will end up with something totally worthless.

The only voucher available to regular guests is at the counter restaurants in Animal Kingdom - for $12 you get three vouchers, one for an entree and drink, one for an icecream or popcorn and one for a bottle of drink.

To save more money, eat at counter service, bring small snacks into the park - the time that this was banned is long over - and drink water, either brought in yourself, from the drinking fountains or when you order counter service they will give you cups of tap water for free. Just make sure you ask for tap water, or you will get Dasani.

And finally - stay out of the shops and don't take up pin collecting ;)

Nice advice, Mr. Barnum!
