New Character Costumes

If that does occur, then kids will ask questions like, "Mommy, why did Mickey's face move during the parade and when he signed my autograph all he did was smile and not move?" which will leave parents to answer that question ... and hopefully the answer will not be "Honey, those are just costumes with regular sweaty people in them."

I can just see consequences from using one and then the other, and not one universal one.

Kids already ask "Mickey, how come you could talk in the show and now you can't?"

I think it's a good idea. And it wouldn't be like on Dinosaur as someone mentioned b/c they won't be animatronic heads, it's going to be like a moving mouth...I don't know how to describe it...

OK, now I'm really confused...

Is the moving mouth animatronically (is that a word) controlled ?

Well let me chime in on this topic

I have not seen the costumes per say but I work with a few people who have used the technology. For example the Rafiki in Legend of the lion king.
And one co-worker assisted in testing the Goofy technology

In a sence these characters are puppets. there is a laser connection inbetween two fingers on either the left or right hand. when the connection is broken it causes the mouth to move or the eyes to blink.

Rabbit from the last tour of Disney Live was this technology.

OH and durring the early stages and runs of Festival of the Lion king at Animal Kingdom, he too was this design, but it was an equity role as a result and Disney designated it to expensive so it went to a regular costume, which is non equity.
