New Character Costumes

I think we all could use a break from discussing M:S...

A while back, I had heard or read somewhere, that Disney was testing a new generation of character costumes, ones in which the eyes and mouth would move, and expressions can be created.... These costumes would only we worn during parades and shows, giving the characters a more life like appearance... When the characters do the meet n greets, the original costumes would be used...

I haven't jeard or read anything else about this... So, is this something Disney is looking into or just a typical internet myth?

EDIT: I think I posted this in the wrong forum. I meant to put it in the General Discussion forum.. Mods, please move if need to be.

It sounds like a new and exciting way for the characters to be shown around the parks. I hope this is true, the costumes need a little more magic.

Yes this rumor is true. There's a post about it from a while back I think the person who posted it was TarzanRocked99-...

Anyway, for the shows they will be using the same ones that are being used in Disney Live right now.

As for when this will happen, i'm not sure .

If that does occur, then kids will ask questions like, "Mommy, why did Mickey's face move during the parade and when he signed my autograph all he did was smile and not move?" which will leave parents to answer that question ... and hopefully the answer will not be "Honey, those are just costumes with regular sweaty people in them."

I can just see consequences from using one and then the other, and not one universal one.

This reminds me of the fake Mickey my MIL hired for DD's 3rd birthday party. It was so non-Mickey looking, all the kids were crying, then when he left, he removed his head right in my driveway where all the kids could see. It wasn't exactly a magical moment!  :o

Oh nooooo, how awful!

"Now, darling, remember when you sat on the Mall Santa's lap, and his beard fell off? And mommy told you the real Santa Claus was in the North Pole? Well, this Mickey is the equivelant of Mall Santa...real Mickey is still down in Walt Disney World...or Disneyland....or several other foreign parks....*cough*" :lookaroun

they are using them now in the Disney Live show as I said in my earlier post, the tour schedule is on the Disney Live website, go checkout the show if it is coming near you! If all goes well during the course of the tour the new heads should make there way to the parks shortly thereafter!
