New Beach club pirate club replacing Pixar play zone

CM told me today that they are taking bookings for a new children only activity from 5-8:30 at Beach Club with Captain Hook and a pirate hunt thing. It’s $55. Really frustrating that they don’t seem to be opening bookings for the Play Zone after March 30th. 5 1/2 hours with Toy Story and Incredible Characters, video games, car races is a lot more appealing than a pirate thing for all kids thats only 3 1/2 hours for $10 less. Not to mention it’s off the monorail loop. We have reservation at Havienda and was planning to have drinks at the Poly. I guess we could still do dinner and watch illuminations I guess.

I’m surprised to hear this. I hope it’s not closing for good, but this doesn’t sound like good news. My kids loved it in September and I thought it would be a goldmine for Disney.

A friend of mine who brought her son in December did mention that a CM told her it was still in a testing phase, which surprised me. Strange that they’d shut down ALL their other kids clubs, pour their energy into Pixar Play Zone, and then ... shut it down?

Maybe try Camp Dolphin? I think it’s still open. I have no firsthand experience there, but if they’re open, they’re open 5 to midnight.

While I want to go out to dinner with DW and have a few drinks at trader sams, I can’t put the kids somewhere that doesn’t have the kind of magic that Pixar would have. With Pixar we could take the monorail from the poly, drop them off and head out from there and take them back on the monorail. Schleping our to the dolphin seems like too much trouble.
