New Art of Disney Store at AK!

Hey guys and gals,

I remember reading a while back that the gallery at MK was closing. Well, I read at the official Disney gallery page the following (http://psc.disney.go.com/eventservices/disneygallery/calendar.html):

"Join us as we celebrate the Grand Opening of the Art of Disney at Disney's Animal Kingdom(R) Theme Park on Tuesday, April 1, 2003. "

Is this an actual new art gallery store at AK? Does anyone know where they are putting it? I know AK didn't have one before and I would be surprised to see them open one in AK while closing the one in the MK. Maybe the MK one is moving to a better spot instead of closing completely or maybe it is all together moving to a new park. Anyone know anything on this?

It also said the artist for "Safari Mickey" will be at the AK Art of Disney store on the grand opening to have him sign it. It also said that special merchandise exclusive to AK will be available. Sounds cool!

If this is true it's fantastic news! I love the galleries, and even though they are closing the MK one, ore are always welcome.

Well, I don't think there is any denying that it's true--it's on the official Disney website...

I'll take some pictures when I go down! I can't wait to see it! My credit card is already hurting...but the Disney Rewards Dollars should make up for it! :lol:
