New Annual Pass Platinum Plus Pass & Magic Band received

In the past when I renewed my annual pass, Disney would send me a new magic band with a new plastic card for a parking pass. This week when I got my new MB, there was no card to show for free parking. I this something new? Are they scanning MB's at parking now? I tried calling and talked to someone who had no clue what I was talking about and said I'd have to pay up front and get reimbursed in the park because the MB wasn't active yet. I checked online and it is active but I couldn't get the guy to understand what I was asking about. Thanks!

Parking does have the option to scan but we very rarely get scanned.. Most of the time I just hang my wrist out showing the band and they wave us on through. Haven't used a parking card in a long time..

The card was also for your AP discounts. Did you check under the cardboard insert that held the MBs?

Yeah, I looked. Nothing there. The boxes look a lot different than the old ones.

We just say we are annual pass holders, every once in a while someone will scan one of our magic bands.

I've always showed my card. Didn't even know they could scan your MB now. I wonder if this is how the discount is working also in stores? Tried calling Disney last night and it was a 30 minute wait.

well for non APs this is how it is working. at resorts they now scan your band and at the tolls they can scan it now too.
