Thanks, Scuttle! I love aerials even if it's just of old stagnant areas of the park but new stuff is always more fun to watch from the skies! :)

Edit: Pandora plot... same as it ever was. :/

I love that the pandora plot is right where Pocahontas and her Grandma Willow used to be. Coincidence?

Thanks for posting. Great shots as usual. On the mine train photos, is that yellow tarp looking thing just a tarp or are they starting to layer in some kind of outer skin for the mountain?

You can see it better in this picture, it definitely a part of the outer skin of the mountain, but it's under the wire mesh not on top of it so I don't know exactly what purpose it serves.

The yellow fabric is the base layer (perhaps a wire mesh, or possibly a fiberglass or poly mesh) that keeps the rock material from just falling through as they're installing it. The darker grid is the rebar. They will apply a thick coat of the faux rock material that will bind with the yellow fabric and encapsulate the rebar.

Actually I believe that the yellow tarp is a moisture barrier and my guess is it is there because they are going to putting live plants with an irrigation system up there.

Two questions;

1.) Why did they open the expansion without having everything ready?
2.) Is that area confirmed to be the Avatar section?

1) So that guest will have a reason to go now....and a reason to come back in a year or two.

2) Nothing about Avatar is actually confirmed, but if it happens, yes, that's the currently allocated spot for it.

That's funny...you can see the line of people waiting outside for BoG. It's just food!!! There's no Soarin' ride in there!!!
