New aerial photos on WESH

Thanks to them, I guess, for getting these.

But, you go to all the trouble to take a helicopter up there, and it looks like the pics were taken with a Fisher Price Baby Monitor camera.

Nice to see, but a lot of effort to end up with such low-grade pics.

Scott Keating and WDWMagic are the masters of the aerial pic!

WESH has a nice helicopter with HD video equipment - I'm assuming these are stills from the video stream, but they don't really have the quality their on-air stuff does.

There is a simple reason for the bad photos; you are not allowed to fly directly over the Magic Kingdom at less then 3000ft without clearance in advance. You can get clearance but not with any regularity and it is tough to get shots from that distance... how I know... I took this with my Iphone about two years ago because there is no such restriction over Epcot, except the limit of 3000ft but even with a great camera, it would be tough to get good shots of the Magic Kingdom from 3 miles away plus 3000ft above. Sorry about the image size but I needed it to be that big to show the difference plus I would have used a better camera but I had the other hand on the controls.

Heli-Expo? Don't know anything about it... I think the last time I was near a helicopter was in '01.

the reason they look like this is because they are not pics. they are snapshots captured from a video recording. they look like crap because the camera was moving, ever so slightly, at the time. trust me on this. i have many pics from my own videos to prove it.
