New addition to Spaceship Earth

Yet another video screen has been added to the beginning of Spaceship Earth. This one is at the very bottom, just as you're beginning the trip up (it is before the previously installed safety animation screens). The new screen shows a live feed from an infrared camera somewhere in the ride. There is a warning below the screen that states something along the lines of, "Riders that do not follow directions may be asked to leave the park."

It has been up for about 2 weeks.........it is sad that they have to do that, but unfortunately some people are idiots and can not follow the rules

I have to wonder if it is really live -- or just a video loop like the folks hopping into the car on Test Track.

Either way, if it scares a moron into submission, then it's worth it.

grad night, 18 year old kid that has the "on top of the world" mentality since he thinks that graduating high school is the biggest thing in the universe....... yeh, i can see it being cool to try a stunt like this.

that is sad. who the hell would jump out of there vehicles? of course ive heard other interesting story's from my schools chorus trip...

It happened when I was there around 4/20. Midday, some kid jumped the car and was free-roaming the ride. Took them about 20 mins to find him.

I spoke with a cast member at Splash MT and asked how often in a day they stop the ride, I was shocked to hear that at least four times a day people get out of there boats or lean over and try to touch the animatronics figures. He said the last grad night 17 times they had to stop the ride and eject people. He said it happens on many of the rides more then people would even imagine.

I'm pretty sure it's a video loop. It kinda ruins the magic too....

Dumb people ruin the magic.....

While I am sure the Magic is important to WDW, so is guest safety and security.....guests who compromise either are the problem

It seemed real enough to me. The ride wasn't busy at all when I rode, and all the cars I saw going by the camera were empty.

I am a middle school band director. This past Spring I took a group to WDW and 1 day at Isle of Adv. I had one of my Dorky kids jump out of Dudley Do- Rite. Idiot. They of course kicked him out of the park. I SENT HIS A** HOME. He was on a plane within 3 hours.

His parents of course thought it was just harmless, teenage fun. Oh, Brother.... :hammer:

That's too bad. This should be a good sign though, because this may be signs of a much needed rehab coming soon considering they are adding new equipment. I'd love to see a IaSW style rehab happen to SE.

I've witnessed two events like these one was on SSE but the group was too far ahead to do anything about it, and the other was on the TTA. They had to keep stopping the ride cause some kids kept standing up, sure enoough one of the kids behind us kept doing it too. We got into the final tunnel(Buzz Lightyear) and he jumped out. Sure enough they stopped the ride, and I was already ticked off as it was. So when the CM walked the track, I told him about what the kid had done, sure enough Disney Security was waiting for him at the exit.
