Just picked it up at the local office. Not sure if it's Disney or AAA that put this thing together, but it's really poor. Few examples:

-For Saratoga Springs, they show a standard room at the Beach Club (older design as well.)

-For Wilderness Lodge, they STILL show the older room design, which was redone 6 years ago.

-There are no pics of the rooms at Yacht Club, Riverside or French Quarter, and they don't show any pics of the standard room st the All Stars.

Maybe Disney feels as though there is no need to get into details in these pamphlets, but for 1st timers, these things wouldn't do a lot of good.

Its probably the glue from the binding.

No the book is stapled.... Oh that was a joke,

That reminds me of a story I heard of a Russian General visiting a Highland Regimental mess.

After dinner the doors to the mess flew open and the regimental pipers marched in while playing. The Russian general had a shocked look on his face but after a few minutes he turned to one of the regiments junior officers and said "Oh they're playing a tune."

A coworker gave me her Frommers guide to WDW from 2009 or 2010 thinking she was helping me to plan my last trip. I thanked her and thought to myself who needs that thing. I ended up looking through it for fun and was shocked at some of their attraction ratings. The worst was giving Dumbo a D or C while giving Alladin an A+ cant miss rating. Now I hadnt ridden Dumbo for many years until i wanted to peek over the FLE fences but cant imagine anyone truly believing those ratings .

Pauline Frommer is, pardon the expression, an attention w**re. I posted in another thread, she won't review any of the Deluxe Resorts because they aren't worth it, except for Contemporary and AKL. What she does is, looks at all the other books on the market, which basically agree on the best resorts and attractions, and writes the complete opposite.

I have never read or even looked at a Frommer Disney book and have no plans to do so. I got one on Hawaii when we went back in 2006 and I hated it...it was useless.......

You know what a great book was - http://www.amazon.com/Walt-Disney-World-Couples-Special-Interest/dp/0761530223. Actually, it still is. It's outdated as it was written in 2003 or 2004, but it was far and away the most helpful book when it came to the resorts. Considering you can buy this for a penny on Amazon, I highly recommend you do. Like I said, obviously it's a bit outdated, but the information on the resorts is fantastic. Each resort gets about 6 pages worth of detail, from room description, concierge offerings, restaurants, activities, impressions, transportation. If you're a fan of the Disney Resorts, spend the couple bucks and pick it up. Great fun to read.
