When: August 4-10th, 2023
Where: Pop Century
Who: Myself, my parents, my brother(E24), my nephew(E12), and my daughter- lil BES(2).
Why: That’s a little more complicated…
During my previous TR I cited one of the reasons it took me so long was working extra hours. That may have downplayed the amount of extra hours.
When I work extra it means that DH is also working extra (taking care of lil BES) but DH always encourages me to allocate my OT money for things for me.
Late May was about the peak of crazy hours for me for me and somewhere after that my nephew very sweetly mentioned he would like to go to WDW is summer.
I was honestly already thinking about a trip for him next summer but… he’s right at that age where he might be “too cool” for it then. And he just finished out a tough first year of middle school.
When I mentioned this request to DH he suggested that I should take my nephew on the week off I had scheduled for August.
But I didn’t want to leave lil BES behind.
DH the suggested I take nephew and lil BES by myself.
For a hot minute the plan was DH, lil BES, myself, my parents and nephew.
Then surprisingly my brother decided he wanted to go and DH quickly volunteered to stay home and pet sit our dog and my brother’s puppy and rabbit.
When we initially proposed this trip I offered that I would cover some of the costs. As the plans materialized I realized that between my OT and airline miles I could cover hotel, park tickets and plane tickets. My family is just on the hook for their food and souvenirs etc.
I feel like that’s a good gauge of how much extra I worked in the past few months. Enough to take 6 people to WDW.
Looking at what needs to get done at work prior to this trip I think it’s going to be a lot of extra hours in July too.
That being said this is going to be a sparse pre-TR.
Between August weather, erratic toddler behavior, family dynamics, short planning time, and how exhausted I already am the odds are this trip will be… interesting but:
