Never heard this before

My cousin is going on a week cruise over Christmas and then spending two days in WDW on December 27 and 28. She told me that she found a tour guide that will guarantee fast passes for all the rides for $650. She's doing this and splitting the cost with her sister in law. It is not through Disney. I've never heard of this. Is she being taken for a ride?

I couldn't talk her out of it. She really thinks she's getting a deal. I'm appalled but it's not my dime. I'll get all the details after she goes and if they are using the GAC improperly, I'll make sure to let Disney know about this company.
It's so frustrating when family members want to go to WDW and don't trust the Disney "experts" in the family. I've had family members make similar errors against my advice. As you say, at the end of the day, it is their money to blow through, but it is still frustrating to watch when you know ahead of time that it is likely to end in a mess. Then, at least in my case, I get judgmental comments from these same family members when I mention that we are going to WDW again. "Oh, that schnitzel hole..."

The only scenario I can think of (besides a disability card) is a group of people with AP's that book the same rides each. They all go to the park and give the paying group the fastpasses. This seems overly complicated...but could work.

Just think of getting paid a minimum of $50 just to go to the park.

So the cousin did use this company and I asked her how it went. They hit 14 rides on dec 27. When asked how they do this her reply was "He collects your cards at the end and re-programs them (I think) and he also just knows people and gives them a paper and they let u in. He wasn't mr personality but did what he needed to. So worth it! Also, we have never been there and he knows the parks like the back of his hands. He set everything up and it was all done for us. We didn't have to think about anything." So are some cms getting a kickback? Can't imagine that any of them would be willing to lose their jobs doing this.

Under the existing FP+ system, I don't know how he could "reprogram" their cards - did they stay off site and thus have their tickets on the card - without being able to access the magnetic strip on the back of the card. And I wonder if the piece of paper was the DAS. If any one in her party was caught, I am sure Disney security would have been more than happy to escort them out of the park and they would risk potential banning for life. This guy needs to be reported to Disney corporate and the local authorities for this scam. And those CMs participating need to be fired, pronto.

I'm glad she was able to ride 14 attractions during Hell Week, but you need to let her know she participated in fraud. Back of ticket states, "Not for Resale. Void if Altered".

As the saying goes, if it's too good to be true.....

Since there are no more paper fast passes, this wouldn't work. Either you touch your magic band or the ticket card to the Mickey. The AP would have to give the paying group either a MB or their AP card. Something I wouldn't do after paying $435 for my AP.

Or he's found a new way to abuse the DAS.

This just makes my blood boil. And to be stupid enough to pay $650.

They advertise a 5-10 minute wait for a M&G with Anna & Elsa?! Seriously?! That little factoid alone would tell me this is a scam. The company obviously is targeting first time visitors because anyone who's been to Disney knows that, unless you've gotten that precious FP+, you are going to wait a lot longer than 10 minutes for a M&G with Anna and Elsa....

Last time I visited Universal, you didn't "schedule" express pass, you just walked up to the ride and used your room key. It may have changed in the last year or two.

I'm a retired Florida resident who is a DVC member with an AP and visits WDW 5-7 times a year. Maybe I should go into the VIP Tour business to supplement my retirement income.

That's what I mean. Their magic band or card. If they didn't give it back they couldn't use it to gain access back into a park could they? The owner of the AP would just tell guest services it was lost/stolen.

I don't see how it's reprogramming cards...wouldn't that be altering Disney's computer systems?

Maybe he made return paper passes for when rides break down?

If legit, I am betting this is a local scum group that has a bunch of APs. They come as a group of 30-40 people. They reserve the FPs, then leave the park. The "handler" manages the APs and hands them to them at each ride.

This is no different than the lady that started the whole mess charging $800 and just getting the GAC card.

But the AP card clearly has Annual Pass on the front. Wouldn't a one time visitor question this? And what if the visitor didn't return the card? I would hope the CM at the ride would think one person scanning several cards for a group of people to be a little suspicious, especially cards that are for AP. And Guest Services would start to question the replacement of AP MB or cards for the same individual, at least I hope. "Mr. Smith, you lost your AP card again? Which bathroom this time? Sure, we will give you a new card, but we're going to have to charge you $50"

I've looked at the website. All about pricing, making your trip more convenient (still like the assurance that you will wait in line for only 5-10 minutes, sure, on Mine Train) and get primo spots for parades and fireworks. Definitely sounds like a scam. Very little detail. Even mentions booking your express pass at Uni. What?!

Maybe I will give them a call. We leave in two days. ;)

Until Security caught you and politely escorted you out of the park....
That is what would happen to me if ever even tried to do something like this. We all know people who fall into a bucket of poop and come out smelling like a rose......not me, if I fall in everyone knows it. I walk a straight and narrow path of do the right thing always, as we all do, except for the people who sit back and think of ways to get around the rules.

If any cms out there know of higher management info that I could pass this along to, please let me know. I'd like a level playing field for all of us who follow the rules. And upon reading my last post, please don't take offense. All the cms I have met are wonderful-not implying that any of you are dishonest!

Just asked about the paper bands. My cousin must have found the portal that links Disney to the twilight zone because nothing she says makes sense. She stayed on site at AoA and claims she got magic bands and paper tickets from Disney. I give up. Maybe the smog in LA has altered her brain.
