There might actually be some large debate over that. One person's Tacky is another's Genius. Is a big cartoony castle any less tacky?^^ Because nearly everyone in any of Disney's creative branches, from animation to WDI, knows that Disney is about much more than characters. Walt himself oversaw everything from Mickey Mouse to "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea," from "True Life Adventures" series to "Zorro," from "Mary Poppins" to "Davy Crockett." In all started with a mouse, but he doesn't need to be plastered all over everything. The hidden Mickey decorative touches are great ways to pay homage in the moderate and deluxe resorts. I will admit that some hotels, such as Saratoga Springs, don't have enough Disney touches.
A giant mouse ears hotel covered with holes (windows) didn't look that great, either. Concept art actually does exist.
