Since I started planning for my upcoming trip to the world in November, I have been stressing over plane tickets. I can't believe how outrageous the prices were. I searched and searched and searched. Yesterday I finally found a great price for my mother and I...

Roundtrip from Philly to MCO with taxes and fees... $338.90 for the both of us!!!!! I couldn't believe it!! :D

I thought I was gonna have to pay $300 or more for just one ticket. I ended up only having to pay $169 roundtrip for one. I am so exciteddd!!!

Had to let you all know! :D:D:D

Gah!!! How did you do it? I haven't bought plane tickets for my trip yet and it's FRIGHTENING :(

cheapair.com
I chose the mix and match flights (AirTran going, Delta coming home), they seemed to be cheaper than the rest.

We were going to wait until June 26th for Southwest's flight schedule for november, but we just couldn't pass this price up with cheapair.com

Good luck finding decent priced tickets!

I got $79 each one way from Long Island but still waiting for Southwest to open up past October 30th. Southwest says they are not adding in luggage fees, window seat fees, aisle seat fees, $2.00 for a soft drink, etc. We fly them 99% of the time. Besides the promitity of the airport to our house - 10 minutes- (saves on gas rather than going to LGA of JFK) they are a good airline. I look at it as I can get down to WDW but may not be able to get home - I don't see this as a problem!!!:ROFLOL:They should be opening up by the end of June so I'll see what the rate is coming home. There is also DING. You got a great price on your tickets! Have fun!

I also just booked our flights last weekend for our December trip. We can either fly SW out of Manchester, NH or Delta, Jetblue, or Airtran out of Boston. All offer nonstops to MCO. (it's the same driving distance for either airport) I was getting impatient waiting for SW to open their schedule on June 26, and was watching kayak.com in the meantime. Airtran's flights were consistently in the $330 range per ticket. (We are going for Christmas and fly back the day after, hence the steep fare) One day out of the blue, they were $209 R/T. SW may or may not beat that, but I wasn't going to wait and end up paying $300+ for 4 tickets. I can live with $836 for 4 non-stop tickets to Orlando from Boston over Christmas!! :xmas: Especially since I had budgeted $1000-1200 for airfare.

For those of you still looking, kayak.com is a great way to check a bunch of different sites at once. Southwest is not on there, though, so you still have to check that one directly.

Hmm, so there's at least 2 of us who would have considered flying SW had they had their schedules out.... I wonder if they realize they are losing business by waiting so long to release their schedules??

Congrats!!!! We're from South Jersey, too. We are planning to go late Feb/early Mar 2009; my husband really wants to go for ESPN the weekend. Would you mind letting me know which airline you're flying on? We are taking my Mother-in-law and our three children (one is a baby), so any help is greatly appreciated. You can either post a response here or email me. Thanks!

EDIT: Sorry, didn't read all the posts - my bad! I'm still not used to the advertisements between posts! Sorry

Yes, I was thinking the same exact thing! It really frustrated me as to why they would wait so long. So I took my business elsewhere and found a great price. How are people supposed to plan that way. I was not going to wait, just to find out that it would have been more money to fly Southwest. I couldn't pass up the price with cheapair.com

If your from South Jersey-try Spirit Airline. They fly out of AC (which is a great airport to fly out of) and they have pretty decent fares. Get on their e-mail list.

I'm sorry to disagree with you, but I have had a lot of trouble with them (i'm in South Jersey too). Last trip, they changed my return flight info 3 times which in itself was frustrating. In addition, there was tons of confusion coming home via. Orlando. They double booked a lot of seats on the plane and it was just ridiculous. I'm going to think twice before flying them again. Atlantic city is great to fly out of though...

Although I don't fly myself really any more, when getting tickets for relatives and flying folks I've found Southwest and their DING fare to be the best. Orlando is a pretty popular one to come up, I only had to wait a few days before I got the flights I needed last time, and I saved about $200 off of their normal price (which was already cheaper than anyone else).

I'm also a huge JetBlue fan, and prefer them when possible, but their prices have gone up, like everyone else.
