I am really nervous about going next March, second to last week. My friends want to go during there spring break, but I am really nervous about the crowds. It says on mousesavers that this time is peak season, and that really scares me. They are both 26 yrs old and never been, and Im not sure I want their first time to be during peak season. If we go mid-may when they get out, would that be better? Is it extremely hot then? I usually go during value seasons so crowds scare me. Thanks in advance!

It's not that bad at the end of March....it's a little busy but you'll be there right at the time where it's kind of busy and hopefully be gone by the time it gets REALLY busy (basically April 1 and on). Right now the parks are PACKED. I took my friends to WDW the other day and we didn't do anything because everything had huge, huge lines. We had no choice but to do the green team on M:S (my friend still got really sick). Long Lines though... All of them. Universal was crazy too.

Next year Easter Sunday will be March 23, so that should figure into your plans. Our schools will have a teacher work day on Good Friday, but our spring break will be the first full week of April. I would shoot for the May trip, room rates should also be a little less then also.

I was just about to suggest checking on when Easter is next year, but I see someone already did that.

Yes, it will be crowded the week before and the week after Easter.

Very crowded.

I'd think May

May would be better because it would be less crowded and the hotel rooms would be cheaper. It doesn't get extremely hot in Florida until July and August. But I guess that would depend on your definition of "hot." :)

And don't forget Wrestlemania 24 is going to be at the Citrus Bowl next year.. That may impact the parks as we Wrestling fans converge for the Superbowl of Wrasslin....

Are you kidding me it doesn't get extremely hot until July or August!!! It's early April and a cold front passed so temps are cool now but late March it got to around 90 degrees. And the hottest day I've ever been in WDW wasn't in June,July or August it was late May, I think May 27 and it got to 97 degrees, heat index over 110.I remember melting waiting for the Star Wars motorcade in MGM during Star wars weekends.

Going during the week before or after Easter, as you are suggesting, can be a nightmare. These two weeks and the week between Christmas and New Years are the busiest three weeks of the year at WDW.

In 2005, I went at the end of March (20-27). Unfortunately, this also happened to be the week before Easter. The crowds were definitely large, but I wouldn't say unbearable. I think the weather was the biggest turn off for me. We couldn't really enjoy the water parks because it wasn't sunny/warm enough and it got cold at night. This time I'm going May...so...I say go for May (better crowd conditions and warmer!)
