Nerves kicking in - Blizzard

Am I the only person starting to get nervous with "Hercules" blizzard coming through the North East..of course my neck of the woods is getting slammed right now.

We're planning to leave January 7th which is Tuesday and the storm should be over by tomorrow (11am) but the nerves are kicking in now. With no flights coming in or out of TF Green for 2-3 days it gets me weary.

Anyone else have this happen to them? Or on the same boat I am now? I don't even know what to do if our flight was to get delayed. How would Disney accommodate us if we weren't able to arrive on the 7th?

Any and all words to calm me down will be appreciated! LOL

Arrived at MCO 15 minutes ago chilly weather but better than New England. Flight was late to board and arrive by 45 minutes but I'm here and that's the most important thing. Sitting in the Disneys Magical Express waiting to go!
So glad it all worked out. A chilly day at Disney is better than a day anywhere else. Have loads of fun!

It is cold today! But we will be back in the 80s by the weekend. Hope you're here that long!!

So sorry our cold snap fell during your vacation! I know when people come to Florida n the winter, they want 80 degrees! Or at least 70.

The expensive Disney sweatshirts - the ones that feel thick and heavy, which are fewer every year - really are warm. You'll get good use of them back home. (The thin ones just suck as badly as you think they might while you're standing in the store.)

Have a good time!!

I fly out tomorrow night and what I have been told LAX has delayed and cancelled many flights. I am sure there are a lot of us coming from California for marathon weekend. I hope I get there.

I'd be happy with 60 :joyfull:
I know. I feel so badly for everyone who got stuck with this. Not what vacation dreams are made of. People who come in August, they know what they're in for. At best, it will be almost unbearably hot and humid...and it will rain. Maybe, if they're very lucky, it will cool off a little (instead of being worse) after the rain. That's the best case.

People who come in the off season just have to hope it won't be really cold, which it usually isn't. And a whole bunch of people are disappointed with their choice of dates.

I wish I could fix it for you all. Not like I'm personally responsible, but I feel so badly for people who linked down hard-earned money just to land in a really cold place.

It's going to warm up, though!!

Thank you all. 5:19 am right now and can't wait to head to Animal Kingdom. I'm like a child, wide awake and my girlfriend is sound asleep!

We went to Downtown Disney yesterday had lunch right away at T-Rex which we both love and shopped around.

I finally got the chance to explore the AKL...wow. What a beautiful resort. It was very chilly so a lot of the animals seemed to stick together but it was just an absolute great experience. Oh! How could I forget my first zebra domes, one of my new favorite snacks!

Surprisingly afterwards we headed to the resort to make sure out luggage arrived which it did we headed back to DTD. We had dinner at the House of Blues, what a pleasant surprise. Everything was delicious, waiter was perfect and it was a great experience (loved the decor)

After dinner we shopped some more of course as enjoyed some of the entertainment going on. For a frigid Florida day it was actually very enjoyable night.

Luckily I had my thermal and North Face jacket. The weather was bearable for us since we're from New England. Some people out last night though didn't feel the same way. You'd think a few of them loved on the sun and never felt a chill before, they were so bundled up!

Have a great time - glad you escaped!

Thanks to the both of you. Prior to departure the flight crews on the strip actually blasted the plane with de-icer, pretty interesting to watch chunks of ice melt away before your eyes. It also took longer to take off due to passengers putting their carry on luggage in the overheads. Sometimes I wonder where people come from and what they actually do in life, lol.

We went to Disney in February a few years ago and hit 2 pretty "chilly" days. Being from New England, we were comfortable in a fleece pullover. We watched as people were walking around with scarves, gloves and hats.....I assume southerners who are not accustomed to cooler weather. Enjoy your vacation! :cat:

Hope to hear some good reports from your trip and also glad that everything worked out and that you were able to get there.
Thank you very much, I've never posted a TR here..or anywhere for that matter but maybe eventually I'll get to it. Very eventful trip with a bunch of firsts.
