So Laughing Place has said that The Seas/Nemo's Undersea Adventure will soft open this monday. Is there any truth to this rumor? I can imagine it will be ready by then.

:veryconfu Hadn't heard this. All I know about is the preview for Epcot CM's on Wednesday. Having it soft-open for guests prior to this sounds a bit odd.

Why on earth would the soft opening be before the Cast Preview?? I haven't worked for Disney very long, but that just doesn't make sense...

It's pretty common. The CM and Passholder days are dedicated to those patrons, but they don't always come first. I've definately done several attractions before "offical" CM previews and I'm definately not a CM, LOL.

Whoever goes on Monday (soft openings) or Wednesday, for CM Previews, could you pleeeeeeeeeease take a video and post it here or pm me? We are hoping nothing will go wrong and it will open on schedule for our November 17-25 trip. Thanks!

The physical structure that seperate the ride from the remainder o the attraction - the big blue wall outside, the smaller interior walls, etc. - need to come down. If they plan to open it to scheduled guests this coming week, getting ride of those walls this weekend would fit that schedule.

Plus, the CMs operating the ride would need a 40hr work week too.

Really what the pre-pre-presoft openings are is the fact that the ride works, the CMs are being paid to be there, and eventually someone decides that its ok to let people on it for a short period.

Really, anything Sun/Mon/Tue would be because the walls simply have to come down at some point (so later this week it can function normally) and the CMs are scheduled to be there for testing or other functions.

What I can tell you is that Monday is the first day that there is cast scheduled for the actual attraction in full rotation (not scheduled as training). Whether or not there will be anyone actually on the ride, that's a different story...

Well, as I said, they've gotta run the full ride from 9am to 9pm just like a normal day starting on Wednesday. Monday is a busy park day for Epcot, so getting the stuff out of Epcot on Sunday makes the most sense, and scheduling-wise, it makes the most sense the just not have people come in on Sunday too.

Managers, other people, execs, they're gonna be in and out with media and other folks running through there Monday and Tuesday. Inbetween, if things allow, they'll probably let some park guests in. Probably, not definately, but probably.

Updated my post. Soft opening is potentially Monday 10/16 (this is open news, by the way). Sorry, that's what I thought the original poster meant.

Hope I didn't come off as argumentative... I agree with the wall situation. Along those lines, all I was saying is that Monday is the first day that the Nemo team will be doing full rotations. Most actually are scheduled to be coming in Sunday, but they are still considered "training".

Ah, i was reading it as..

-----------Sun--Mon--Tue--Etc..
M. Mouse.. Off --9-9--9-9---9-9

When it's really...

M. Mouse.. Trn--9-9--9-9--9-9

For example. Some shorthand, TLSNemo or something, TRN=training, you know what I mean.

But if Soarin' is a greeter, that does mesh with the idea that the walls are being ripped out this weekend. They may or may not be open on Mon/Tue. Saint - your job is to stand there and say "Sorry, we're not open, no - not today. No, I said No! NO!!! NOOO!!!!" Then occasionally cry when they open the doors behind you and say let people in. ;)

Saint - if you have the early shift, you miht be the very first CM tortured by standing next to the Seagulls that go "Mine! Mine! Mine!" for hours on end.

I'd bring a pointy stick and plenty of patience.

Saint: Sorry, it's not open.

Guest: But I read on the internet...

Segull: Mine!

Saint: Sorry, but no.

Seagull: MINE! Mine!

Guest: Let me in!

Saint: No! (to Seagull) Shut up! (to guest) Ack! I mean, sorry, we're not open yet.

Trust me, after hearing "Is the wait time really ___?" a gazillion million billion times a day, I can put up with a little bird yapping and asking if the ride is open.

I am not familiar with the schedule of events that lead into a ride officially opening. We are headed to WDW on 10/28 and we'll be there until 11/5. Is there a chance the ride will open by then?

Yes, official website says "late October" which inherently means sometime before November and the internal calendars say absolute worst case scensario short of a catastrophe is the 31st, so sometime during your trip it should be open.
