We were at the show yesterday- and at the back of the seating area is a mirror image prompter of the character lines. Anyone know why?

For guests that are hearing impared, they have reflective captioning to allow them to follow along with what is being said. You can find this at most theatre shows (Fantasmic!, Muppets, etc).

For hearing impaired guests wanting to use this feature they receive a mirror setup (basically a mirror on a stand) and they sit down and adjust it so that they can glance in the mirror to see the dialogue and be able to see what's going on at the same time on stage.

Actually, it's more like a piece of plexiglass, that you can see through and see the captioning at the same time.

You can sometimes see the plexiglass panels in the theater as you enter or leave. Check the back corner of the theater nearest to where the LED display is. If it's moderately busy, the CMs often don't get a chance (or bother) to put the panels away between shows. They look like a microphone stand with a flexible gooseneck on top, with the panel on the end. (There's often a fabric cover over the panel to keep it from getting scratched when not being used)
