Well. It's obviously been a while since the rumors have started about Nemo finding his way to The Living Seas. And I might be a little late on this but notice this...

Remeber the cars that used to be there right after you got off the hydrolators (God I hate those things), and notice how its been shut down since before Nemo was lost in theaters......

My guess is that this is the area were Nemo will be ultimatly found, but we'll know on Oct 9th I suppose, it should be, provided its actually happening, close to getting a mention in a conference or something.

I don't know about the Seacab theory, but I did see something interesting from the monorail today. Remember that rolling Nemo character thing they had in the MK pre-parade for a while? They had it out near The Land, heading towards The Living Seas along with those seaweed people. I don't know it this means anything, though.

This might be off topic a little bit...but screamscape mentioned talks about adding a shark tank...has anyone else heard this..it makes sense to me as to why they would want to do this.

welcome to wdwmagic bud... lol

quick advice, Screamscape isn't exactly the most reliable source of rumours (then again, neither are most guest contact CM's and most websites... lol)

just giving you a heads up

Adding a shark tank is not needed since there are several sharks living in the main tank! Who ever posted that on screamscape did not do their homework!

I guess they could make a mini dark ride with the sea cabs....I mean there is space to build a couple of "sets" where you could make a tank or something...to follow the theme of the place...and stick Nemo and all his pals in there.....but the question still remains....is that the best thing for The Living Seas....in fact is that the best thing for EPCOT and "Future" World in general?

I was a little disapointed with the living seas on my last visit (a week ago). It just looked so drib and dark... I am sure that the aquarium used to be lit up better then it was. In fact, it looked a million times better from the Coral Reef restaurant then it did from the Living Seas side. I'm sure if they sorted out the lighting and got rid of the naff looking 'sea pods' that are dotted around it would make a hell of a difference.

Unfortuantley in it's current state, I feel that The Living Seas is one of the poorer attractions at Epcot, only being beat by the Wonders of Life pavillion, which by the way needs bulldozing and starting again... :lookaroun (awaits the masses to disagree)

It may not be the best thing for Epcot, but Epcot needs help, and when that problem arrises, anything is good. Nemo would be great. It would bring many more people to the Living Seas, and is something new, that wont take 4 years to build, and will get more people over to that side of the park, and so will soarin, which will make it a perfect balance between the two sides. Add to that, time racer, or whatever becomes of that, and Epcot will be almost, a two day park

I agree that the Living Seas needs help ASAP. We didn't even bother going to this attraction the last three times we visited Epcot. Sure, I like seeing the Manatees and seeing beautiful aquatic life, but frankly my family and I got tired of it quickly. Hopefully Disney will add some spark there soon.

I guess I'm one of the few people left that still Loves The Living Seas Pavillion.

I can easily spend an hour in there observing all the fish and watching the Dolphins and the Manatees.

We don't have alot of manatees in MY neigborhood.

I enjoy watching the divers in the tanks...especially when they enter from that long tube.

It's cool and comfortable in there, and that's a plus too after being in the Florida heat for hours.

I enjoy all the hands on exhibits and take the time to read all the information on the exhibits and I even like the gift shop.

I'm also one of those weird people who actually watches the MOVIE...there's some great shots in it...and if you're not careful...you can actually LEARN something...

I do hope they do something with the Sea Cabs though. It's a nice little ride and gets you off of your feet, if only for a few minutes.

I guess if you just looked at it like it was just a big Fish Tank it could be conceived as a little boring, but I think that if you take the time to observe everything in the pavillion, and appreciate it for it's beauty and it's enormous size and what it takes to build something like Living Seas, you might appreciate it as much as I do.

It's a MUST SEE attraction for My Family and Myself.:sohappy:

 I couldnt agree with you more!!! I still love the Living Seas but I hate how they have let it slide. The sea cabs no longer working, the exhibits not as plentiful, etc etc etc.... The last time we went in LS, we were very disappointed. And I wish Disney would quit transforming all the rides to kiddie-oriented themes and leaving the old-time visitors to accept "kiddie rides". I mean, I want some of my memories to still be around. One of my favorite originals was Mr. Toads Wild Ride. Another original favorite of mine is the Swiss family treehouse, and now I hear rumor they may chg it to Tarzan...:hurl: I read somewhere from Disney how the MK is "Ever changing and Never changing". Disney, keep some memories for the old-timers too!!!

MK 1st visit- 1971 12 yrs old

Actually I couldn't agree with you more....Living Seas use to be one of my favorite attractions (of coarse in the EPCOT that was). Things change I guess...they just let the pavilion slowly fall apart....but I agree WoL is worse.

I though about the NEMO issue a bit...and I figure that its not a bad idea to add NEMO to either the Movie part of TLS or the circular waiting room part. But I doubt we'll see anything done with NEMO right away especially now that PIXAR and Disney are negotiating for contract renewal...(they don't want to give PIXAR anymore reasons why they should keep 'em).

A couple of comments:

1. I would presume that Disney owns the rights to exploit the Nemo characters as part of its current contract with Pixar so I don't think the contract negotiations should be particularly relevant to the development of a Nemo attraction.

2. Maybe I'm alone but I'd like to see a traditional omnimover dark ride constructed again but they seem to be out of favor.

While Disney does infact own the rights for theme park use...I doubt that they will place any PIXAR/DISNEY characters in any attraction while in negotiations.

Why?

Because Disney needs to show Pixar that they are in no way dependent on Pixar. By adding NEMO to an attraction like TLS while negotiating...Pixar can always point at such an addition and say, "Without us you wouldn't have had a hit movie, like NEMO, and you wouldn't be able to place them in that attraction."

Disney needs to play indifferent....and make Pixar feel unimportant...while it is Disney's intent on renewing the contract they must first gain the upper hand in negotiations...so that they can get the better deal.

Anyways that just how I see it....its like when you go buy a car....you can't go up to the car and show the salesman that you are really interested in the car cause then he'll bump the price....

Well said, in fact my wife and I love the attraction so much, we go diving there every trip!

The Incredibles is going to be Disney/Pixar, right?

Finding Nemo would be a great addition! I mean, if they wanted to build a Nemo ride somewhere in any of the four parks, this would be the only place for it, as it wouldn't fit in Fantasyland at MK, but also it could replace Voyage of The Little Mermaid at Disney MGM Studios. The theme is great, and it would be the best for the worst attraction in EPCOT. I prefer the Circlevision movies more than it  ! And it would help to bring back more life into that side of Future World. The sea cabs thing should be transformed into a dark ride and then the rest of the stuff there can be transformed with the Nemo theme.

But Toy Story has an attraction, and so does A Bug's Life. Next in line really should be Monsters, Inc., and then Finding Nemo, even though it was the second best movie of the year (second to Terminator 3).

Actually, it could be viewed entirely differently. Disney could point out yet another spot in their themeparks in which they promote the heck out of Pixars movies/characters and Pixar wouldn't have gotten as far as they have without Disney's unbeievable promotional machine which puts extra royalty $$$ into Pixar's pocket from all the additional merchandise that is sold thanks to Disney's parks, PR, and marketing largess!

Both need to come to a good deal, because they need each other to continue their great success!

I agree that LS needs some updating to it, but I don't think Nemo is the way...Why does Disney need to add Characters to all it's attractions...Epcot was different at it's creation in that it did not have the disney movie characters walking around...that kind of magic was reserved to MK

If they bring in Nemo, it will really symbolize the end of educational fun at Epcot. Put Nemo in the 20,000 leagues spot
