Need Suggestions Please!

Here's the dilema, my sister is checking out on the same day she has Chef Mickey's ADR's and needs to figure out how to get around and make her flight.

Details: She staying at ASM. She's flying Southwest. Her ADR's at Chef Mickeys are at 10:30 and her flight is at 2:30. First, does she have enough time? Second, is there an easier way than - checking out and having the resort hold her luggage, take the bus to MK and the monorail to Contemporary, then leaving Contemporary by monorail back to MK, then take a bus to ASM, then take DME to the airport?

Please help and offer suggestions! :o Thanks.

DME is going to want her ready at ASM at 11:30.

I would:

1 - try and make the ADR earlier that day

2 - take a taxi to and from ASM to speed up transportation issues.

That's not enough time. DME will be 3 hours before flight. Chef Mickey's easily takes an hour to eat and meet characters and chances are even if ADR is for 10:30 they will not be seated right at 10:30. Using Disney transportation will take about an hour to/from ASM.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I had all the same thoughts with using a cab at some point, in order to have enough time. I just didn't know if I was missing something or if there was another way I didn't know about. These boards glean the most unique information.

First she should try now to move her reservation earlier.

Next when she is down there she should try to move the reservation (depending on the time of year there could be a cancellation during the week)

Finally and I hate to suggest this because I may get flamed, but I feel for her problem so here goes:

She can take a chance (as long as her party is not too big) and show up early (at least an hour, but as early as possible). She should then explain to them that she did not realize that DME would need to pick her up so early and see if they can squeeze her in. I have seen it done with groups of 4 or less. They try to be as accomodating as possible.

It will be more difficult for a character meal, but it is worth a try. That is why it is best to get there as early as possible.

Good luck!

How about taking all her luggage to the breakfast, checking at luggage check at the Contemprary, having her breakfast and taking a cab form there to the airport. I know it will cost $$ but she won't have to rush thru anything or try to get in early, cancel a meal etc....

Not bad ideas. About bringing the luggage to the Contemporary, they would probably need to take a cab there too - otherwise, they'd be fighting to get it on the bus and monorail... Not sure if I've EVER seen anyone with luggage on the monorail! :veryconfu

Keep the ideas coming though! The more ideas the better! Thanks to everyone's who's responded so far...

Does anyone know if there are car rentals at Disney where you can return them at the airport? I know...don't ask - you don't want to know... (if you're wondering why she just doesn't get a car rental from the airport...)

As far as I know, luggage is not permitted on Disney transportation.

My thought is the expensive one all the way - taxi from ASM to breakfast and then another taxi to the airport.

I second that - the only real way to make this happen to get a taxi to bfast with luggage (see if they can store it for her) and then taxi to airport. As for a car rental - if this the only time she would need a car on the property - it seems like a lot of money for just one time she would need to use the car. Other option - move ressie if you can! Good luck!!
