Need some help with transportation

Hey all, quick question ( I hope)

The whole family is heading down to WDW in January (there are 8 of us, three kids, 5 adults)
Anyway, we got the Magical Express option but we still want a car. I was thinking of picking up a minivan at the Alamo near the Dolphin. As I have never used the Disney transportation system before, what am I going to have to do to get from the All Star's over to the Dolphin? Do buses run from hotel to hotel or will I need to get to a park first then over to the Dolphin.

Also, is there a bus route map or anything similar printed somewhere that I could get my hands on?

Thanks, in advance for your help!

IMO it's much easier to just use Disney transportation. But if you're set on getting a rental...I would take a bus from your resort to Downtown (or the closest park) Disney and then hop on a bus to the Dolphin.

If you would like to rent a car from Alamo, the most convenient location to schedule pick-up and drop-off is at the Disney Car Care Center. Shuttle Service between any Disney Resort and the Car Care Center is available Monday-Friday: 6am - 7:30pm; Saturday-Sunday: 6am - 5:30pm. Call 407-824-3470 or ask at the bell service desk to arrange for pickup.

Hope this helps! :sohappy:

I would think it would be MUCH easier to just get the car at the Airport and be done with it. :veryconfu

You can cancel your Magic Express reservations, as you will already have both your luggage AND your ride!

At the end of your trip you just drive back to the airport!

from my hotel i would get the bus to downtown disney then get the bus from there to another hotel, ive done it before i go the bus from all star sports to downtown disney then from there to the boardwalk which is a short walk (and by short i mean over a bridge that connects the swan or dolphin to the boardwalk).
try it and you get to experience other resorts and see what other resorts offer.

hope that helps.
