Hi everyone! I know everything about WDW it seems except for taking a flight. I know about DME, but I'm wondering what to pack, how to pack ( 2 adults 2 children), and any other bits of advice you may have for flying. June 9-14 is our trip. We usually drive ( 14 hours) but hubby wants to think about flying. We're getting too old for the drive! LOL. My hubby and I haven't flown since 1997 for our honeymoon to Hawaii, so that was pre 9-11! Not sure about the boys and DS gaming devices, and such. Any help is appreciated! Thanks everyone.;)

So we are on two different Airtran flights operated by Airtran and Southwest said that we still have no baggage fees since we booked through SW.

My family of 5 managed to pack everything in our two carrys per person. The flight we had even offered a free checked bag per person but we didn't need it. Keep in mind we do stay in a timeshare so we have the washing machine that we use a few times during the trip. My advice would just be to pack sensibly - pack only what you need - it's a vacation not a move. If you happen to leave anything behind or need anything while you're there then you can just buy it.
Thank you. We are going to try w/ just carry ons ( 4 of us).:)

We tried that before too and it didn't work out. Plus where are you going to put all of the souvenirs?
We're hoping to pack "lite".
I am sending any souvenirs home via mail. My Mom wants me to do it that way, since I usually get a snow globe anyway.;) I think you are still able to do that. Not sure?

I wouldn't test out. If it's more than the size of a tennis ball, TSA will take it away or ask you to exit the line and ship it to your destination.

I do every trip with a checked bag, though my checked bag could be classed as a carry on due to size. I take a duffle bag inside my checked bag to truck souvaniers home in. I also tend to open up all the souvaniers and combine boxes, etc...to maximize the space (there is a LOT of wasted space in a lego box, for example...)

The primary reason I check the bag is there are a few items that I like to bring along for our trip (which lasts 2 weeks, normally) that don't meet the liquid requirements. Also, I like to bring a multitool (great for opening packages at the resort), and that is not allowed on the plane due to the knife / saw being too long.
