Need September planning help

Hi everyone! This is my fiirst post, although I have been browsing these boards a long time. My wife, Brother in law and I are planning a stay at the Wilderness Lodge for Sept 19 - 23rd. We have some scheduling and activity questions, and we are having problems finding the answers to them. First, we want to make dinner reservations at O'hanas for the night of the 19th to coincide with the Wishes fireworks show. Never been to O'hanas, but I understood you can see the fireworks during dinner. Is that a good idea? Can you see them well from there? Also, what time do they do them that week? I have the schedule for them from last year, does it stay the same for the fireworks from year to year? That night is my Brother in laws Birthday (he is 43). Any suggestions on things to maximize his disney birthday experience that day? Also I see no EMH hours posted yet for september. Should I assume that the hours/ days for september will be the same as August? Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions you can give!

If I am not mistaken, the September hours just got released a few days ago (the first of the month), and usually there is a bit of a lag between the time they release the official park hours and when they release the parade and firework times. Just keep checking the official disney website.

In answering the question about the birthday, if you go to one of the parks that day, go to the guest services counter and they will give you a button to wear for the day saying that that person is celebrating a birthday.

I have never been to Ohanna's, so I have no advice about that...sorry.

I still could use some input concerning the "viewability" of the Wishes fireworks show from tables in O'hana's. Anyone done this?

Just remember, the dates and times are not set in stone, they can change between now and then, but it's more probable they will stay unchanged.

Common first-timer mistake. Watch Wishes from inside the park.

Some tables at Ohana can see it and timing a reservation (which you must have or you wont get into the restaurant) to get the table near the windows before the show starts (many people goof that part of the ressie - since you're not always seated immediately) is like complicated trigonometry.

Just enjoy a meal at Ohana early in the night and go back to the MK afterward or do it on seperate nights. Since AK closes fairly early, going to Ohana afterward is nice way to end the night, or maybe start the evening on the way to Downtown Disney for Cirque or DisneyQuest :)

I agree with merf. Don't cheat yourself out of a great fireworks show. Wishes is best seen from inside the park.

If you want to maximize your brother's birthday, have him wear a it's my birthday button. That usually generates some action. Always let your server know you have a birthday and sometimes(not always), they try and do something nice.

We go to Ohana's every year for my birthday and we always make reservations so that we can see the fireworks. I generally make the priority seating for an hour before the fireworks are to begin. My family and I will try to get there about 15 minutes before the ps and request a window view so that we can see the fireworks. Right before the fireworks are to begin, they will lower the lights and start to pipe in the music. It really is a nice way to celebrate your birthday. However, I would also encourage you to go to the MK to view the fireworks from mainstreet.

Thanks Kit n dash for your info, that's exactly what we are going to do. I have seen the fireworks mrom inside MK before, but what I'm going for here is a memorable dinner experience, so I'm sticking to my O'hana's plan. On another note: There anre no EMH's posted for September. Will they have them? Or will they disappear after peak season like E-Ride nights used to?
