Need room advice on Saratoga Springs

Hi,

We are hoping to get another vacation booked and have found a good deal for the Saratoga Springs Resort.
We have stayed at PoP and POFQ as a family of 3. This time we will also have a 1 year old in a pack&play type thing.

My question is about the room size at the SSR, we will be in a studio which I know has the sofa bed, this will be for my DD (8). Will there be enough room to fit the pack&play in?
What are the sizes compared with POFQ.
I have looked on other web sites and the SSR room is slightly bigger than POFQ but is most of this taken away witht he small kitchenete area?

Also if anyone has any good room locations or advice on the SSR.

Many thanks.

What I would do is instead of opening the sleeper sofa is let the 8 Y/O sleep on and sofa. We did this with our our daughter. Instead of opening it up, just take off the back cusions and this will give him more room to spread out. Then take the bed sheets and cover to bottom cusions just like making a bed and place the top sheet and blanket on and there's his special Disney bed. This should leave you plenty of room for a pack and play. If you open the sleeper sofa up, it will be very crowded.

I agree. You should have plenty of room if you do this.

Great idea, had not thought of that. thanks.

How did you find the resort? We will have a car and use the bus service very limited, only to get to Epcot and back.

Any prefered areas to stay in?

thanks again.

It really depends on what you want out of the resort. I personally prefer Congress Park because of it being the closest to DTD. A lot of the times when we may be having diner at another resort we will take the bus back to DTD and then walk back to the resort. It however is a little hike to the Carriage House (main bldg) where the restaurant is located. If you want to be near the main bldg and the main pool then you would want to stay in The Springs area. The Grandstand has a spray ground which is a water play area for the kids which may be helpful wih the kids.

Another note is that the Paddock is in the process of getting it's own Feature pool and counter service restaurant which should be open this summer.

No matter where you stay you will enjoy. I have attached a resort map copy for you to look at.

I'll slightly disagree with PhilharMagician, in that I didn't find Congress Park to be THAT much of a hike to the main building. It might be a PitA to walk over to get a cup of coffee or cola in your unlimited mug (and you'd easily finish drinking it before getting back to your room), but it's still only a few minutes' walk away, for the main pool, Turf Club, arcade, gym, Artist's Palette, etc.

As far as Artist's Palette goes (and I've written this a lot, sorry for being a broken record), but a nice thing about staying in the Congress Park section is that for the length of time it'll take you to walk to the main building, it's only slightly longer a walk (in a different direction) to get to the Marketplace section of DTD, and all their dining options. I'd recommend ignoring AP as much as possible (Saratoga's a big resort, and it seems that, even during off-peak eating hours, it's a ridiculous wait to get your average food, plus a potentially ridiculous wait to pay for it), and for counter service meals, going to Wolfgang Puck's Express or Earl of Sandwich. WPE will even let people call ahead and pack meals for pickup, if you want to bring a meal back to your room, and the food is much tastier. Great idea is, while one of the grownups get the kids ready for the theme park du hour, the other can walk to WPE, call ahead WHILE walking and order what you want, it should be ready by the time you get there, bring it back, eat in the room and then head out to the parks in the same amount of time it would probably take you to walk to AP, wait to order, wait to pay and walk back. AND you'd have a better breakfast. Also a better option for dinner if you plan on crashing early in the room one night, whether you eat in the room, or take turns eating by the quiet pool while the other stays with the kids.

There is plenty of room in any room of the Saratoga Spring resort, you don't have to worry about that. What you should worry about is the fact the resort is HUGE, its really, really BIG.

It has 4 bus stops in the resort itself and if your bringing small children who might have to go to the bathroom after the parks, call ahead and ask for a room close to the main building if possible, they can only tell you no.

But the resort is great, the pool is fantastic and they show movies on a huge blow up movie screen every night poolside. They have a lot going at the resort itself, so don't leave it all in the parks.

Jimmy Thick- Its fun, not my fave, but up there...

Some of the locations are a bit of a hike. However, unlike slappy we never ran into issues with buying/paying for food at AP. I think we ran into a line once, and that time was maybe 5 minutes.

WOW it is a big resort.

We don't mind a walk, we used to stay in building 7 at POFQ and I know some people found that a long walk to the main building! to us it was fine.

congress park is looking favourable as we do love WPE and Earl, again the walk we would enjoy. Is it well lit, the walkway.

What is the pool like at Congress, no doubt we will sample all pools though.

Glad to hear the rooms sound big enough.

Sorry for all the questions but we want to know as much as possible as it will be our home (hopefully)for 14 nights.

Thanks again.

The pool at Congress Park is very quiet and it offers very nice views of DTD. There is a small jungle gym there for the kids to play on and BBQ grills around if you want to grill lunch or dinner. The pool area also affers a hot tub which feels great after a day in the parks. Right next to the pool is the laundry room for Congress Park and since you are staying in a studio for 14 days you will most likely need to do some laundry.

The walkway it lit pretty well. We walk it all the time at night when staying there. WPE is one of the biggest highlights when staying there
