My husband and I will be in Disney during the MNSSHP but I dont think we will be attending the hard ticket event. I just cant justify the extra money for some reason. Maybe I just dont know enough about the event.

Anyway, my hubby just mentioned that we will be there exactly 1 month before our 1 year wedding anniversary. And he suggested we do a nice/fancy dinner to celebrate it a little early.

We have never done any of the fancier restaurants in Disney. We are from New Orleans and go out to very nice restaurants on a regular basis, but just never done any while in Disney.

I am curious what yall suggest for nice wedding anniversary meal. My only thought would be to do the restaurant at the top of the Contemporary during the MSSHP version of Wishes since we wont be getting to see it. But thats not 10% necessary.

What do yall suggest?

California Grill

California Grill!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get an ADR around sunset time and you'll get

1. A beautiful sunset with the sun just disappearing (weather permitting)
2. A fantastic meal (top shelf bar, too)
3. View of the entire Magic Kingdom
4. At Dusk see all the lights turn on at Magic Kingdom
5. Everyone can return to the balcony to watch the fireworks at MK. The balcony pumps the same music as the park. (even if you're finished dining you can return)
6. Fantastic pictures of your grouip on the balcony with MK in the background.
7. Their Chocolate Lava cake for dessert...mmmm

Hi neighbor, also from the New Orleans area. We went to Le Cellier for 3 of our anniversaries and were never disappointed. We only ate at California Grill once and it was delicious. Correlated our reservations for the fireworks. Ask for a good table to see the fireworks because it is your anniversary. Sometimes they will accommodate you.

Beware if you go to Cape May because their seafood is nothing like we fix in New Orleans.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Minnie, I rarely order seafood when in other cities. Its just always a let down. I guess thats the price ya pay for being from such a stellar culinary city.

So far I am leaning towards Cali just because of the fireworks. Are they visible from the Poly? My other thought would be to have an cocktails on the beach at Poly for the fireworks and then that would free us up to eat anywhere.

Just another thought.

For our 41st anniversary - not the exact date either the before or after- we went to Ohana's and they sat us at a table directly in front of the castle. It was wonderful. Just lucked out. This year we asked and got horrible seats.

IMO you really can't go wrong with any of the signature restaurants. Cali Grille is definitely my favorite but I also really enjoy Citricos, Narcossee, and Jiko. I've had multiple fabulous meals at all three.

Celebration

Where ever you end up, please make sure you make an ADR. I would suggestion you call in and make your ADR versus on the web. When you call in tell them you are celebrating your anniversary. When we celebrated my husband's birthday last year, they brought a card with four fast passes in the card. It was a yellow slip of paper we could use on any ride of our choice. It expired the next day, but we thought that was very nice. They also gave him a cupcake with a candle!

Let us know your choice!

Jiko the Cooking place is a nice choice. We have never been disappointed in a meal yet! The service is excellent and the food is wonderful. They offer a variety of African wines that if you ask, they will recommend the best to go with your food choice.

I am taking my DH there Saturday night for his birthday! It is certainly a restuarant to celebrate something special in!
