Need OS hotel

Hi! We are going to WDW for a week in Sept - staying on property. To make the most of the magic, we'd like to drive down the day before our reservation begins. Can anyone recommend a hotel in the Kissimee area (right off I-4, close to 192)? Since we are just sleeping there for 1 night, it doesn't need to be fancy (or expensive), but I don't want a "roach motel" either. We have a large family (my dh & I, plus 6 kids!), so we'll need 2 rooms.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!!

The DWF and I always arrive one day before our package begins. So here is what we do. Once we cross the Fla state line the DWF gets on the phone with resvervations, most of the time we are told to go to our resort and make the arrangements there. My wife spends about 20 minutes of bickering back and fourth and always gets us a room for the night at the resort that our package will begin at for a very reasonable rate. The room they give us for the night is the room that we will have for the next day when our package begins. So all we have to duu is just go to the front desk and get our package and room keys done over. We have done this at PORS, Coranado, Movies and WL. No issues. My wife does haggle and bicker back and fourth and in the long run always gets us our room at a very good discounted price for the night. Hope this helps. We have been doing this for the past twelve years.

We are arriving the night before our package starts too but are staying at Pop Century for the night. We ended up getting it for only about $60 a night and we are still on Disney Proprety:)

We are doing this very thing in Oct for our trip. We are driving from IL. I was looking at Lake City Fl just over the Fl state line and it was about $99 a night or so for a more popular named hotels. Then for giggles I looked at Pop Century for the night, and it was $105 for the night. So we are just going to drive the extra 3 hours make it to WDW stay at pop for the night then the next morning move on to our planned hotel Bay Lake Tower. The way I figure we were going to pack an overnight bag anyway so we will leave all luggage in the car except for the overnight bag.

I stayed a couple of nights in October at the Baymont Inn before our resort reservation started, then we moved to WDW. Baymont address is in Celebration, but it it actually less than one mile from AK (very close). It was recently renovated and was very nice for the price. It even has microwave and fridge in each room, nice pool and includes breakfast (with several selections). I think the cost started about $59, but then I found a discount code and got it for $37. This place was not a dive (and take it from someone who has stayed at plenty of dives).
