Need last day luggage ideas

I am going on a short solo trip to WDW in a few weeks. I am not taking a lot of stuff with me.

On my last day, I am checking out of Pop Century early in the morning, going to Universal all day and flying home that evening. I will head to the airport straight from Universal.

As far as I can tell, I have two options with my luggage. I can send it with the resort airline check in. I am flying Delta, so that is $25. I don't have to worry about it all day, but I then have to wait for to arrive in LAX before I go home.

The second option is to take a backpack to WDW instead of a small suitcase. I can rent a large locker at Universal for $10 assuming that they have lockers large enough to fit a whole backpack.

Are there any options that I am missing? What would you do?

How are you getting from Pop to Universal ?

If you are going on a short trip, and can get a good discount, it may be worth it to rent a car. If it's just you, then you can get a compact. Then you can save on whatever the cab (I assume) to Universal and to the Airport would have been and you can avoid either the $10 locker, or $25 checked bag fee by leaving your bag in the trunk.

I am getting to Universal on a Mears shuttle. Tammy at Kingdom Konsultants found me a deal. If you buy a 2 park 1 day ticket, the Mears shuttle is free.

You could leave your bags at the Pop resort with the bellhop service, go to Universal and then return to Pop if the Mears shuttle is free and then just take ME to the airport from Pop with your luggage. It would mean some lost time in the park to allow for travel but just a thought.
