Greetings all!

Since the entire family is heading to the World for the holidays, I was thinking of sending my mother to one of the spas as a gift.

I don'tk now much about spas in general, especially the ones at WDW. Can anyone out there reccomend something? I've been on the websites of the spas at the Grand Floridian and Saratoga Springs Resorts, but don't know what to get!

Any help would be appreciated!

We have always just gotten the swedish massage. Once in a couples room with aromatherapy...that was fun:). The swedish massage is really nice and also, I have heard that the foot & leg treatment feels out of this world after walking the parks for a couple of days. My suggestion is to go with that. What could be better after a few days walking and standing? The Spa at the GF is beautiful and she will be able to utilize the work-out center as well as the whirlpool, steamroom, ect. while she is there. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Grand Floridian Spa was out of this world! Complete relaxation. Had the sweedish massage and a facial. They kill you on the products they sell you at the end. Good products but overpriced I am sure. Luckily for us they just opened a clinique shop in the mall by us. Doing it next week when we go down again.

It is not required to purchase any products after your treatment:)
Just thought you would like to know since you are not familiar with spas in general....
I have to agree that spa products are the best and well worth the $$$$, but they do tend to get expensive.

My wife has enjoyed the GF spa as well. Swedish, facial, manicure and pedicure. Made for a nice break mid-day. Heard that Saratoga Springs is even more impressive...but it's a bit of a hike, depending on where you are.

Spa services are a great treat...will she be comfortable getting a message from a stranger? It might be good to have someone accompany her. If she isn't comfortable with it, then she might enjoy the idea of a pedicure. I don't know about Disney specifically, but I've had some great pedicures that actually involved a lot of leg message, and my feet looked great afterwards. Great looking feet are fun in Florida.

I had my first spa treatment just recently, It is wonderful!!!! I took myself and my bridesmaids on the day of the Wedding as my Thankyou gift to them. None of us had ever been before so I had to do some research, to tell them what to expect.

A few things to think about

1 Does she have allergies. If yes better tell the theripist and avoid facials. They tend to use a lot of herbal extracts. At the spa we went to the only treatment not to use oils was the reflexology.

2 They cover you at all times with a sheet. And under things are optional.

3 Be prepared to drink a lot of water afterwards. Believe them when they tell you that a massage will dehydrate you.

4 Aroma is the gentalist of massages followed by swedish, and the deep tissue is where they to pulverise you.

5 If you are tossed between two shorter treatments or one longer one go for the longer one. (When I went I had a 35 min aroma and a 25 min reflexology.
Both were great, but she only had time to do the briefist of run downs on my back and shoulders, arms and legs, before concentrating on my reflexology. She did ask if I wanted her to concentrate on one area like back and shoulders, or lower back and legs, due to the short time frame, but being my first time I did not know what to tell her.)

6 What might be better than you trying to pick something for her, is give her a few choices in the price range you want to spend. That way she will be more likely to get something she will enjoy, and you don't over spend.

All of us have become total spa junkies, be aware you may be creating a monster. I did. Myself included.

Ps all I know of the WDW spas is that the Saratoga springs menu prices were slightly higher than the GF menu.
