Need Help With Proposal Spot

Greetings all...

I am thinking about popping the question at the world when the entire family is down for the holidays.

I do not want to do it inside the parks, but somewhere outside. We're staying at Corronado Springs. I have stayed at just about every resort there but the springs and was wondering if there is a good place there?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There used to be this Maze on 192 towards the Wal Mart/Arabian Knights. That would be tremendous. I'm not sure if it was there but it would be Super Romantic.

Let us know what he says...

Later in the night at Animal Kingdom Lodge, by the fire pit? (I say late as there is less chance of there being lots of guests sitting around the fire)

If it were me, I would do it on one of the boats on Bay Lake or the lagoon. Do it at night on one of the routes going to a park, so that there will not be anyone on the boat with you.

If you set on (1) outside the parks and (2) around the holidays, then the place to go is Wilderness Lodge. There are just tons of possible spots - by the waterfall, by the geiser, on the boat dock, in the lobby by the fire, and many, many secluded nooks all over the lobby.

With all WL's holiday charm, you can't go wrong!!!

Congrats and good luck!

I agree !

But, even though you said you did not want to do it in the parks, in front of the castle during wishes !!! Dreams do come true !!

Congrats and GL !!!

Despite what you said, I have to agree that by the castle would be my choice. I would go into the gardens there. there is also a pavillion by the water there. It would be very crowded and maybe loud during wishes though. Another thought would be somewhere like the beach at the Poly with a view of the castle at night/wishes from a distance. The grounds of the GF are nice, too. A quiet placethat I also like is the bridge from Epcot going towards the Boardwalk area at twilight, when the sky is pink and the Boardwalk is starting to light up.

I like the idea that you want to propose outside the parks. Still in the magic, but finding a little spot that different from the norm. You will have to tell us where you picked and how it went :D

My spot where I proposed was...

in front of the castle after Magic Kingdom's wishes :D ... The best part about it was it rained  ... Had it not rained, those huge loud vacuums will ruin your proposal in a heartbeat... If you want, you can read my proposal on my trip report below (Nov. 13)... But she enjoyed every part of it... If I can give you any advice, it would be to just do it where it feels right to do it... My DFW (Disney future wife), Cindy, was happiest everytime she saw the Castle... So the whole day, I took her in the castle for dinner :slurp: , rode the carousel, and after wishes, I proposed in front of the Mickey Mouse- Walt Disney statue and of course the castle :sohappy: (got it on tape too thanks to CMs who I owe many thanks to)... During your stay, show her the many settings of DW... When you see her eyes light up, or if you know what she loves to have as a backdrop, then do it... Just enjoy Disney, and Disney will supply the magic ;) ...

1 more thing...

I just reread your question, and you are staying at CS... there's a walkway bridge that connects from El Centro to Cabanas... At night, about 9:30pm and later, no one is around... No club cars can drive on this bridge and you see the reflection of El Centro and the main Buildings... Very beautiful site at night, or at sunrise... Let me know if you want to see pics...

Thanks everyone for the ideas! I will have to steer clear from the Castle/Wishes proposal... my girlfriend doesn't share the love of the parks that I have, so doing it at the resort is risky!

If any others out there have other ideas... please send them my way!

wow, Coronado Springs is an amazing resort, I am Sure you could find a spot in there somewhere. I would say night time is the best, as the resort really looks better at night. I would try by the lake, or by the Dig Site Pool, late at night, in frount of the giant prymid and hot springs. The Boat Dock seems abandoned late at night if you to go with the lake idea. Or, If dinner better, try the Mayan Grill, NOT the Pepper Market. The Mayan Grill is a dimly lit, romantic-style atmosphere. If you want to go EXTREME try The Grand Floridian, at Victoria and Albert's or a nice restraunt. GOOD LUCK! LET US KNOW! HOPE THIS HELPS!

On the beach at the Poly would be amazing... You get a wonderful view of the fireworks and the pipe in the music from the MK and you can hear it right there. My boyfriend go at least once a trip and sit on the lounge chairs.. there is even a bar out there so you can grab some drinks... very very romantic!!
You can always do a fireworks cruise too! You can do one for Illuminations as well as Wishes!
Good Luck!

It was amazing. I proposed at the Poly on the walkway along the beach. Right after we enjoyed the Luau. We hung around for a few minutes and casually walked along the pathway. The Castle was all lit up across the lake and yet not a single person came by. To me it was the perfect spot and I'm pretty sure my wife enjoyed it as well. Not sure if it was the location or the ring. hehe  It was very private and quiet and as soon as she dried her eyes, we walked into the bar and threw back a few Mai Tais. I do admit I don't remember much of the Luau before hand as I had "other" things on my mind. :D Good luck!! :sohappy:
