I will be staying here soon and I was wondering if anyone had some tips or suggestions for staying at this resort. I'd also like to know how it ranks among other higher end resorts.

its a nice resort you should have fun there. Only bad thing is that they moved the sit down resturant over to riverside so there is no sit down place to eat there only the food court. Not a concern of mine. The place is nice , nice pool and boat service to downtown so its all good.

The resort is nice, IMO, compared to some of the value and moderate resorts. The bus stops there first, picking up and dropping off. Be sure to ask for a building close the to the main building, that way it is easy to get to the Food Court and Bus Stop.

I liked the resort, as did my husband. However, if you are going without kids, you also might want to request a top floor room on the end. That way, the kids in other rooms aren't running across your "ceiling" all night. We had that happen a couple of times....

Have a great trip! Only 76v more days to go for us!!!:xmas:

I've stayed there 3 times...always very nice, quiet as well since it's a smaller resort. As the other poster said very nice pool and a relaxing boat ride to Downtown Disney. I do miss Bonfamilles (that was the sit restaurant). Had great food everytime I ate there. A hotel this nice really needs a sit down restaurant. As stated above P.O. Riverside is short walk away if you want a sit down restaurant nearby. Enjoy!!!!!

We just returned from 8 days there and we had a great time! We had an awesome room (#5107). It was close to the pool and the food court and right across from lane from the laundry. It was on the first floor on the end and was very quiet.

We went there on our honeymoon in June. It is such a beautiful resort. Definately try the beignets (sp?). They are amazing pastry things with icing sugar. Also there is a great lounge by the food court where jazz musicians play in the evening. It's a great place to eat a snack or grab a cocktail and unwind after a long day in the parks. Have fun. I'm sure you'll love it.

Stayed at POFQ twice - honestly cannot fault the facilities or the resort. Its nicely themed and as everyone else says the boat trip to DTD is a must. Back in the days when Port Orleans FQ and Dixie Landings were two seperate resorts I always favoured PO as it is the smaller of the two, quieter with less guests - the buses to the parks were no problem as they always stop at PO first (occasionally driving by the Riverside resort bus stops with people waiting). If I had to be critical I would say that the breakfast buffet was poor (and pricey).
Its a great place - you'll love it

POFQ is a beautiful resort. Request a view of something other than the parking lot and you can't go wrong. The resort is very small so it isn't much of a walk to the bus stop, boat dock, and food court. The walk over to Riverside is a nice one and my mom and I did this walk every night of our stay in May.

My family and I have stayed there 6 times ove the years. It's our favorite moderate.

It's peaceful and the themeing is wonderful. If you get the chance take a walk through the grounds and see if you notice the fact that the further you go back on the property, the more aged the buildings look. It's won numerous awards for the landscaping. It is just a hands down beautiful resort.

I also love when you walk into the bathroom off of the main lobby and you can hear the cajn music playing as you also do when you walk through the grounds.

My family always like to stay in the bayou side of the resort. We like the more rustic feel. The bedposts that look like logs really are pretty cool.
We also would request to be near building 18 since there is a quiet pool near there and you are also close to the main bus stop and the lobby/foodcourt. We didn't really like going to the main pool since it get really crowded at times. We always opted for the quiet pool. They also have laundry facilities and bathrooms at each of the quiet pools. I would throw in some laundry while we were swimming.

You are going to love it there!
