We will be in WDW resort for Labour day w/e and the rest of that week (fri to thu), in total 6 full days at WDW, i need help in trying to plan tickets and how long to spend in each park.

We have decided on the 2 day Magic Your Way park hopper ticket, we figured 1 full day for MK, and the other day to do MGM and Epcot, is this do-able at that time of year? we will go to a water park 1 day to break it up a bit and relax probably Typhoon Lagoon.

The other 2 days we plan in Universal as we want to visit both the studios and IOA

Is this timeline and itinery a fair one with regards to seing eveerything in the parks? first trip to WDW since 91 so need help from any of you pro's out there. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure you will see much of the parks at all. You might be able to see the 4 parks in 3 days (if you didn't want to see everything), but 2 days? not a chance. MK is a full day and then some if the lines are bad (and since I'm assuming you mean to be in WDW on the weekend) they will be bad. Epcot is a full day and MGM is a 3/4 day park, though you may want to repeat rides and then it can easily be a full day. AK is a 1/2 day (I know others will debate this, but since it closes at 5 p.m. I consider that half a day). Conceivably you could squeeze AK in on a EMH entry and be out by 1 or 2 an dthen do Epcot the rest of the day, and then do Epcot/ Mgm another day and a full day at MK, but only if you did it during the week. Just curious you said 6 dyas in WDW but only 2 days in the parks 1 day at the waterparks and 2 days at the Universal parks, what's the last day? travel day?
I would warn against only 2 days in the Disney parks because you may find yourself very disappointed. Just my 2 cents

thanks for that ! yes the 6th day is a travel day so to speak as we arrive at 10am in Orlando on our first day and we probably wont do a park that day. So its really 5 days in the parks.

We're not interested in going to AK, just going to do the 3 parks at WDW (MK, Epcot, MGM)

If you are arriving at 10:00 am, you might want to go to Epcot/World Showcase on the day you arrive. You would be able to get a lot in until Illuminations at 9:00 pm.

With the amount of time you have alloted, you will probably be dissappointed. Not speaking from experience, but I would imagine that Labor Day Weekend will be crowded.

You realize AK is a WDW park, correct? Just the way you phrased that statement, wasn't sure if you really knew enough about AK.

Have to agree, you won't get nearly enough done in two days at WDW. Maybe consider either
A. visiting only IOA (or Universal, w/e your choice), or
B. scrapping Typhoon Lagoon (which, you really won't need such an off day after just a few park days, probably)

That way you have 3 days for WDW parks, which is still pushing it, but you can hit the main attractions in each park, and see the 3 evening shows as well.

And since you are hopping, if you do decide on a 3rd day take a look at Animal Kingdom. It gets a lot of undeserved slack, it's a great park, and only 7 years young (to think it should be FULL of attractions like the other 3 WDW parks were when they were seven years ... oh wait :) ).

Enjoy your trip.

Typhoon Lagoon is a great place, and the better of the two water parks.
Now if you ask me (I’m not sure you did), I would cut down on you plans unless you want to spend most of your time running around. I find that most people try to pack way too much into their trips and miss the point of a vacation. Why not spend a day at MK, and a full day at EPCOT or Disney/MGM, take your time, take in all the sights and make time for full meals, enjoy the time together sharing the experience and talking don’t spend all your time on the move. Remember what Ferris Bueller said - "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." Also as far as Universal goes - Islands of Adventure is real cool, but the studios aren’t worth the time, if you’re short on time spend it at IOA.

Meega, nala kwishta!
Wow, you're gonna be plenty tired, and will probebly not see much with all that running around. You should seriously consider what others have said and slow down on what you want to squeeze in.

Our typical vacation to Disney is 7 days or so. We spend a full day at each of the parks except for Disney Studio, we don't care much for that one.

You should look at the hours calandar at WDW web site. There are extra magic hours for all the parks (both moring and evening) during your stay that could help you have more time in each of the parks. I would schedule your trip around that to get the most out of your stay.

We did a special VIP tour of Universal a few years agao. Got front of the line seating to all the rides and shows, food, a personal tour guide. It was very nice, but as for the park, we'll probebly never return. It's not Disney. I wouldn't even consider it a Disney want-to-be. No magic, no imagination.

As for IOA, it just another amusment park to me. I'd rather go to Cedar point or 10 other amusment parks around the US before I'd cut out Disney time in Orlando to go to another amusment ride park. But each to there own.

We occationaly do the other parks to "mix it up" like Sea World, Busche Gardens, or Discovery Cove. But nothing comes close to a Disney vacation like Disney (except swimming with the Dolphins at DC, what a rush! :sohappy: )

Just plan well, pick the best days with the right hours to get the most out of it, and try not to rush, rush, rush, and enjoy yourselves. You already know you'll not be able to see everything, and if it's crowded (and it will be at that time), you deffinaly won't be able to do everything, make a list of must do's, and do them first, and pick up the rest if time allows.

But don't forget to through the list out if a spark or inspiration happens and you want to do something spontanious. That's when you'll have the best of times.

Have fun!

As a regular visitor to WDW I've got to say I plan a minimum of 3 days for even a short trip down. Need to see Wishes and Illuminations in the evening and not spending a couple hours at AK would be a shame at least to visit Tough to be a bug and see the Lion King show!!

Reconsider the Universal trip this time around, this is a two day trip in it's own right unless you are going to target just a few attractions. Must do's there are Mummy's revenge, Shrek 4D, Spiderman, T2, Twister plus many others.

Remember also that single day/park tickets at Universal, like Disney do not allow park hoping between IOS and Univ Studios.

At both WDW and Universal the big issue I'd expect that will frustrate your timeline will be coordinating the fastpass/speedpass times and the lines.

Don't forget eating can be a great part of the Disney magic as well

 Welcome Home!!!

I am spending only two days in the parks...but I am planning to only visit MK and Epcot and nowhere else......so that may work out just fine. We'll just have to see!
