Ok guys I need some help. I hate roller coasters and flume rides,
but I lost a bet to my wife:eek: And I must ride Splash Mountain.

I have never been on it before and I am very nervous.
I don't want to :hurl: all over.

So I was wondering if you guys can give me some hints on what to expect. or if there are any hidden things that I can prepare for.

If I make it without looking like I am scared she said she would
go on Alien Encounter.

Oh yeah I will be sure to post a Pic of how I look after the ride:hurl:

Hi!

Ok let me explain the ride.. Most of it is calm, & air-conditioning.
Once boarded you travel to your right and up a hill.. Dont worry just yet. This leads to a nice outdoor flume section. I do belive you travel up another hill after circling the front part. Coming up you will have about a 20 ft plunge (* if not less *) into the indoor part. I belive the drop is called Slippery Falls. Or some where along those lines. Inside is very enjoyable..
The second drop leads you into the laughing place.. But this drop is more like a rollercoaster.. It goes down then up then down.. You'll see what I mean.. Once done singing with Brer Rabbit you once again drop down a 10 ft or so drop.. This willl lead to the lowest part of your ride. Beware.. Once you see the 2 talking Voltures.... Your going to be dragged up the lift hill and plummet into the briar patch.. After the fun wet part (* laughs*) you head into the building to witness Brer Rabbits Welcome Home Party..

Then Exit..

Hope that helps :):):)...

I'm not a big fan of drops either but the big drop was over real quick, maybe 2 seconds. It's really not that bad when you're on it, it looks way worse when you're watching it. One thing I would try to do is avoid dwelling on the lifts and enjoy the scenery. When I went on it I was kinda nervous and all I remember is going over the final drop! There is much more ride in there, I just don't remember it!

This ride is my favorite at WDW! This is not because of the drops, but because of what you see during the inside portion of the ride. Just relax and enjoy this great attraction.

I always focus on how high I am going instead of looking at the ride. the inside of the ride looks great but I still have to pysche myself up a little bit. I am going in OCT so I still have some time.

I can't wait to see my picture in the gift shop.
It will definitely be priceless:lol:

Well, at anytime when you are about to drop, the ride is pretty good about hiding it, with the exception of the last drop, you know that one is coming. Also, you may want to sit in the back. This is my 6 year old son's favorite ride. It is really fun. It is also one of the best themed rides ever created, so do yourself a favor and focus on the scenery and not the drops.

If I remember correctly there are five drops - the first four are appetizers and none bigger than 6 - 8 feet. The last one is the one that you view when approaching SM as it falls into the Briar Patch. Catch the view of Cinderellas Castle as the log goes over the crest and plunges (gently !!) into the patch below - its not that bad - honest .

What ever you do, just DO NOT get out of the boat. You are perfectly safe while you are in the boat. Just look around at the scenery. Heck, it may be a good excuse to bury your face in the Mrs. CHEST.

just like Captain said, it's really not that bad... Make sure you enjoy the scenery while you are going thru though and try not to think about the drops. The ride is very enjoyable. My favorite!!:)
