Need help in planning first trip

I am hoping for some input here as I am really confused in trying to plan a trip for my daughter, her husband and their 4 year old girl.

They will be in that general area in March so were hoping to be able to spend one or two nights at an onsite resort.
I have looked at disney site and cannot figure out which resort would be better for them.
Since they will be there a short time, is there one that I should be looking at.
Swimming in not a priority. Mostly to spend time at the Magic Kingdom doing what would entertain a 4 year old would be what they want.

We (the grandparents) will not be going but we would be picking them up at airport and dropping them off at Disney.
Is their anyway to even do this by car, I imagine we can drive to front gate and drop off but I am not sure.

Anyways so what I am asking is
1) what resort do you all suggest?
2) would they have time to pretty much see all of Magic Kingdom in the short time.
3) Time frame would be dropped off around 3pm on a Thursday, sleep there Thursday and Friday Night and be picked up at gate around Saturday around 6 or 7
4) If they had 2 day passes, does that go hourly. Meaning if they arrived Thursday around 3 could they go that Night or is that considered a day used of their pass.

I hope I am making sense here with my questions. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks

I might look into an agent in the future when I have a better idea of what I want but for now can anyone tell me how I can find the prices for rooms for coming March.
No packages, just 2 nights at a resort.
I cannot seem to get past December 2014. When I try to find this online.
Thanks

Rates for 2015 have not been released yet. As a rule of thumb, add ten percent to the 2014 rate for your dates and that will give you a general idea of price.

Hi Joan,

You actually have to call disney for the 2015 room rates and to book them. The packages will be out on July 30th and everything (room and packages) should be available to book online on that day.

If you really want to book a meal at Cinderella's Round Table, I strongly suggest that you are online at 6am Eastern time exactly 180 days before the day they check-in to the resort, or at least on the phone by 7am. They disappear VERY fast. But if you are not successful, keep trying back for a cancellation - you might get lucky.

Thanks for that info.
I did make a reser. At contemporary but will be waiting for that release to see packages and dining plan prices.
I was wondering when it would be.
Since you will be their for so short, I doubt the dining plan will be worth it unless you go deluxe. It would cost about $200 for the QS plan, $280 for the standard dining plan, and $500 for the deluxe.

The standard plan would only give them enough credits for one meal at CRT and 2 quick service meals.
Deluxe might work better and give them a chance to enjoy more places... maybe a meal at California Grill on arrivial day. Then breakfast at Crystal Palace (winnie the pooh and friends) followed by dinner at Cinderellas Royal table.
Then on check out day, breakfast at Chef Mickey's?

Thanks for helping, we arrive Thursday the 5th March and sleep at cont. for 2 nights, then leave mk
Saturday evening.

I would really like cinderella,s table but it is closed for refurb. Till the sixth, opening the seventh.
I am confused about the reservations , someone told me that since we are booked for the 5th March that From 180 days before thst day we can make all dining reservation even the ones for March 7.
Meaning we do not have to wait till 180 days before the 7 th.

Can you on anyone confirm this.

Yes you will be able to make your dining reservations for the duration of your trip starting at 180 days before the day you check in.
