Need Help: How Does Lightning Lane Multi Pass Work for a Group of 7?

Hi everyone!

I’m a little confused about how the Lightning Lane Multi Pass works for a group of 7 people. We’ll be staying offsite, so I know we can make our selections 3 days before each park day. But I’m unclear about when exactly we buy the passes and when we can start making our ride selections.

Do we need to be linked in the app beforehand, and does everyone buy the Multi Pass separately? It seems like we’d need to purchase it first before we can make our selections, but I want to be sure I’m understanding it correctly.

Any advice or step-by-step guidance would be super helpful—thank you!

You make your first 3 selections while purchasing. It’s nice because if you’re not seeing availability you’d like, you could decide not to purchase at all.

It would be easiest to have everyone connected in the app first, so that one person can make the purchase/selections. If everyone bought LLMP separately, you’d risk not getting the same times for your selections.

To add to the above.

You select and buy one day at a time.

You can also book single pass LLs for each day, up to 2 per day at any parks. Again this n s separate transaction.

The single and multi pass LLs don’t block each other, so make sure you don’t overlap them too much.

Once you’ve made your selections, modifying them isn’t particularly easy (see later), so take time to make sure you’re happy with the rides and times.

When booking them you can usually have about 15-20 minutes overlap. So 10-11 and 10:45-11:45 for example.

As you are staying offsite you can book for as many days as you have tickets for.

On the day of your LLs, at midnight onwards, you can modify more easily and you can often get an overlap of up to 40 minutes.

And then once you’ve made actually tap in to your first LL, you can book another and modify existing ones for any tier, any park. Limited only by availability.

Letting one expire allows you to book another but doesn’t “unlock” the tier & park restrictions.
