Need help deciding

My DH and I are not sure if we should go to AK this trip. We did it 2 years ago with the kids. We feel like not much has changed since we have been there. The only reason why we are considering it is for my son (6) who loves dinosaurs and he keeps asking us if he can go on the Dinosaur ride again. Which at
4 1/2 he loved.
We have planned MK for 2 days, Epcot 1 day, HS 1 day and than AK last day. We are debating on making the last day at MK . We don't have park hopper. Can you get park hoppers for one day? Any feed back is greatly appreciated.

Epcot does have Ellen's Energy Adventure if he just needs a little dino-fix. We're in a similar boat due to DS9's love of EE. We've got park hopper so just doing an AM AK EMH for 1/2 day when we go next. Still, seems like a waste since my itineraries are otherwise pretty much all full-day per park.

There's unfortunately no way to buy park-hopper for a single day - it's an upgrade for all days or none.

We often do AK as almost an afterthought on our last day (travel day), or in combination with another park in the afternoon, just because it's only a half-day park for us. We like the FOTLK and Nemo shows, KS and EE. Otherwise the park feels too congested for my liking, and I can see animals at a zoo. Usually after 3-4 hours I'm ready to leave. I have to say if we were doing a 4-day trip, we'd skip AK.

When we visit the AK it's only for a half a day. We normally are finished with what attractions we want to see by noon and head over to EPCOT. Maybe have a sleep in day and head over to the AK later in the day till closing. I would certainly do the MK on my last day.

AK is always a tough call for us. It's a pretty park and there are a few things there that we like to do...especially now that our girls are taller...but when we're doing single park tickets, I find it so hard to justify spending a full day there. We've thought about having it as a hop day...i.e. devote half to AK and half to DHS, but the 1-day price to bump up to hopping always feels so steep. We hopped this most recent trip and aside from the amt of time it took to get from one park to the other, I felt like the time at AK was worth it, but I can't see us using a single park ticket there any time soon. I do at least like ending a trip at MK :)

We always do AK arriving at rope drop and go to the Safari for a ride then over to Dinosaur and a quick trip thru a few stores and out of the park we go usually by 11:00 if not sooner.

There's really nothing new there. We've done it as a half day park (max), and always leave feeling like "that was okay, but I wish we'd gone to the MK or Epcot instead." Dinosaur and Primeval Whirl are too rough for 2 of the 4 of us, nobody wants to get bored and soaked on Kali River Rapids, 3 of the 4 of us can't do Expedition Everest and the Yeti doesn't work anyway, the safari is nice but "been there done that," the wildlife trails are fun the first time but only the theming is more impressive than our local zoos, and the park is hot as blazes and exhausting to walk. All in all, it's a lot of time, effort and energy just to watch a couple of nice shows.

I know that many disagree and I hate to be negative about it, but we visited Animal Kingdom when it was brand new and "incomplete" and after ten years, we're still visiting and finding it incomplete. On our next trip, the plan is to skip it.

I think if we had park hopper we would do half day of AK and half somewhere else. I think after reading posts I agree with all of you. Think this time we are going to skip it. Now its either MK or Epcot for our last day I am leaning more towards MK...

We always do AK on our final (travel) day because we do like it, but we can finish what we want by lunchtime if we arrive at rope drop. That said, if you want to skip it this time, then do, and don't feel bad about it. There will (hopefully!) be more trips down the road. Also, you don't have to decide in stone in advance. You can change your mind that morning!

AK is my favorite park (used to be HS) and always takes me a full day. FOTLK favorite attraction, everest is a fave, Tough To Be A Bug. I guess I just love all of it. If I had to skip a park it would be very hard to decide.

We skipped AK altogether on our last trip. We will be back there next time as it's a longer trip but we honestly didn't miss it. It can be a bit of a tough park with little ones. Then you add the heat...can we get a little a/c in Central Florida? No? Ok...
