Need Dining Advice - Chef Mickey's vs. Tusker House

We have ADRs that we are trying to decide between. We want to do Chef Mickey's "just because" but are also interested in Tusker House. However, admittedly, Animal Kingdom isn't a huge priority for us during our Thanksgiving week trip.

How do the breakfasts at Tusker House vs. Chef Mickey's compare? I know the difference in the menus, but what about the difference in the food??? I'm assuming that even on Thanksgiving day, the standard menu will still be available at both, right? I'm probably ordering the biscuits and gravy myself, but I'm sure the wife and kids will order different things than that.

Another Chef Mickey's question: Would you prefer to visit Chef Mickey's for breakfast or for dinner?

Thanks in advance for your observations!

We've done both - breakfast at TH (a few times) and dinner at CM (once). As I recall the menus and food were fine, and typical Disney (certainly when it comes to breakfast offerings).

For us, CM was a disappointment. There were too many kids running around the place while everyone was trying to eat and a huge lack of parental responsibility in trying to control them. Kids will be kids - but not while people are eating. I would like to think that its not like that all the time, but we haven't been back since

For breakfast it really doesn't matter much where you go - make your choice based on location and character preferences. Both TH and CM are buffets.

For lunch or dinner, I'd choose TH over CM any day. I've had dinner at CM and really wasn't impressed with the food - although if it's for Thanksgiving day, I'm sure the traditional fare will be fine. My niece and nephew don't even want to return to CM. I've also had lunch and dinner at TH on Thanksgiving day and liked it much better.

We have done breakfast at both TH and CM. I would say TH would 99.9% of the time get our vote. ;) Both are buffets, both have standard breakfast food. TH has Jungle Juice which is amazing. I thought TH seemed less rushed and not nearly as loud. We also like doing TH at around 1030 for breakfast. That way we get both the breakfast buffet and the lunch buffet.

TH-less chaos, quieter, slower pacer, more ethnic food, nice character interaction, Jungle Juice, less of a selection but still very good. More relaxing vibe.
CM-Fab 5, very loud and lively (not bad just not might be your thing), get to watch the monorail wisping by while you eat, depending on your seat can overlook 7 Seas area or Bay Lake which can make for a wonderful meal time view, huge selection of standard breakfast fare (cheese blintz are to die for). In your face Mickey.

TH is my favorite breakfast on property. The food offerings are varied and very tasty. Plus Daisy is there, a huge plus for my daughter.

I like CM for dinner, but I just prefer dinner as meal in general. The desserts are great here. Plus you do meet more characters. For Thanksgiving, I would probably do CM.

Wish I had your dilemma. Normally we are at WDW for Thanksgiving, but we are saving for a big DL trip next summer. I am in withdrawal.

We've done both a couple times, and we love TH! Especially breakfast. Better atmosphere for us, and I agree with almost everything that has already been stated. Only major bummer is no Pluto.

I don't think there are characters at dinner for TH though. Unless that has changed??

Just my opinion, but for the price, Chef Mickey is a huge let down. The food (for breakfast) makes IHOP look like a 5 star cuisine. Yes it's nice to meet the characters, but for $55 bucks a head, it's better to go to the meet and greets.

We do Chef Mickey's (breakfast or dinner) and Tusker House (breakfast only) on every WDW trip. If I had to choose between the two, I'd choose Tusker House, hands down.

I also think the character interaction at Tusker House is better, at least it has been for us in the past.
