Need Advice re PIN #s

We are definitely planning to go to WDW in October 2009, and it would be great if we got a PIN# when they are sent out at the end of the year to use for the trip. I realize that there is no guarantee whatsoever of receiving one, and that many long-time fans have never received one.

That said, do you think the odds of me receiving a PIN # offer would be greater if I booked the trip now (in which case I could apply it to an existing reservation) or if I waited until after the holiday season to book the trip? We're going on the trip regardless, but I just want to maximize my odds - if that is even possible. What do all of you think? Thanks in advance,

(PS-I've considered the issue of rooms being taken if I wait until January to book, but since the trip isn't until next October, I doubt that will cause much of a problem for us.)

I dont really think it matters if you wait or not. Codes have been released the past few years around the same time for General Public, FL Residents, AP holders, etc... if the resort you are staying at has the availability for your dates to use the code then you're in luck! We go every year in Nov. and never had a problem getting a discount with the codes that are released...this year it took our TA 3 tries to get something at French Quarter. So it varies really. Just glad we ended up getting something...it was a huge savings for me so I am really thrilled.

As far as emails, and Pin #'s that come in the mail...that is just very randomly done. Example..They are now offering Free Dining for selected dates, and some of those dates are dates that we'll be there. People are getting emails with Pin codes...as nice as it would've been to recieve one, I didn't (but have been checking daily). So it is very random how they do it.

Getting a Pin # is like winning the lottery. Just go when you want to go. The chances of getting a pin are very slim.

A pin# is a special deep discount that is not available to the general public. Only the person using the pin# is entitled to the discount.

Problem is that I can never get a pin# for a time that we can go.:hammer:
