Need a good SD Card for May 17th Trip - New Camera

All,

I'm looking for some real world reviews to help me make a major purchase before I leave for Disney on May 17th.

I just purchased a Canon SD500 for the trip last week. I need a good card, and can spend roughly around $100.00. I know that this probably belongs in some digital camera forum out here, however, I think it would not get much of a response in that forum.

I know that there has to be a couple of shutterbugs out there who have got some good camera/media advice as it applies to WDW.

Thanks in advance for your help :)

The card itself has no bearing on the quality of the picture taken just how many you can take before having to download them to a laptop or computer of print them off. If you can get a 1 or even 2 gig SD card you probably wont have to worry about using up all that space with picture for the week.

If you are going to be shooting on the high resolution make sure you get a fast card like the Sandisk Ultra II or Extreme III. Amazon has the Ultra II 2GB for $88.34 or the 1GB for $44.89. I'm sure someone probably has it cheaper.

Don't agree... the card makes a big difference on how quickly the picture is saved between shots.

My advice... buy several smaller cards. IF a card goes bad (and it does happen - I speak from experience) you will not want to take the chance of ALL your pictures being lost. Buy the high speed Sandisk cards and get several 256Mb or 512Mb cards instead of one huge card. I've ordered many times from NewEgg.com and have never been disappointed -- great place to order from.

They are small and easy to carry so why take a chance.

Woah....19.99 for a gig memory card? Awesome! Thanks for the link! I'm def. getting one, now I don't have to bring my laptop, as I should be covered with 2 - 512g and 1 g cards!

Thanks again!
