Navy jets flyover at the Magic Kingdom this Saturday

So what were they? Rhinos?
I'm going to guess the Blue Angels...don't know for sure, but if they are Navy it would make sense.

I'm not up on my Navy aircraft, so I can't answer. There were only two planes, and they had gray underbellies - that's all I remember, since they came and went so fast, and I wasn't ready. Our hard drive and netbook are both still packed and I don't feel like getting them out because I'm about to pass out.

Blue Angels would make sense, except the planes weren't theirs.

Here you go, sorry for the delay.

All I get is a black screen that says Private.

Should be fixed now. Sorry.

Yup, that looks familiar now. Definitely not the Angels. I'm anxious to see how they edit in the flyover for the Xmas Day production, since it was quite anti-climactic in a live scenario. We actually thought that was a dry run and that they'd circle and do it again, perhaps with crowd audio, etc.

At first I thought those were F-16s and apparently the US Navy uses the F-16 as 'aggressors' for training. I'm not that familiar with naval aircraft. If not, they would be F-18s.

Kind of strange to do a 2-ship for a flyover.

Ya that was cool, but nothing is like a 4 plane flyover

Definitely F/A-18Es (Rhino/Super Hornet)
Kinda disappointing that they only sent two of them.
I wonder who foots the bill for flyovers like this.

Fighters and military aircraft are required to log a certain number of flight hours per week. Flyovers like this are done during the mandatory flight time; not a pork with tax dollars mission.

So getting the Navy to do their log hours over your football game/concert/pre-taped Christmas parade is just a question of asking nicely?

It's more about WHO you ask.
Yes, definitely, and who is doing the asking. The Navy jets did a flyover before a football game at my son's high school and then the pilots were introduced during halftime. It was awesome. I believe the school's athletic director was a former pilot.

Yeah, not the Blue Angles...they should be in training this time of year anyway.

We will too. We fly out on Saturday but DME pickup at BLT isn't until 2:50. We're getting to the MK in the morning and hope to see the flyover and some of the parade taping.

We were there for a few hours today and were in the little crowd around Maria Menounos and Samantha Brown as they taped their talking bits, and were part of the stage crowd for one band. Might actually end up in the final cut....we'll see on Christmas day. We have LOTS of good pics.
We were in the crowd with WHOOPI GOLDBERG! That was on Sunday! It was really cool. Hope ya'll had a great time!
