Mystery Project at Epcot

Did anyone else see the "soarin over the horizon" part on screamscape?

They compared soarin over yhe horizon to the star tours revamp where every ride will have different scenes and a computer "randomizer" will be used.

This makes perfect sense, I kept thinking "why are they filming california adventure, disneyland, magic kingdom AND epcot?? I first just assumed california would use their theme parks and florida would use their theme parks..but I think the randomizer makes more sense..

Sorry if this is old news..

(Is it much more likely jerry reese is just working on soarin? Hopefully it's not..as this would mean more love for epcot)
I've been hoping they'd do a randomized version of the ride. Especially with digital projection, it's much easier.

I haven't ridden it since 2006 (in EPCOT) and 2008 (in DCA) so I imagine the EPCOT projection is just so bad by now.

Do kids actually like the speedway? Whenever I've watched people drive on that thing it just seems like everyone is bored and frustrated with constantly hitting the guide rails.
I can't think of any compelling reason for keeping the thing open as it exists now.

I think they used to. But I swear I saw mostly adults and young adults riding the other day when I was watching it for a while.

A re-theme or a Wreck-it-Ralph version would work so much better if they insist on keeping it. I'd rather they turn Cosmic Rays (move him to Tomorrowland Terrace) into the Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall, put Wonderland at the Speedway and call it a day.

A Sugar Rush overlay would be such a no-brainer, and serve as a great thematic bridge from Fantasyland to Tomorrowland.
Of course, this would need to be combined with a complete vehicle fleet replacement, hopefully with electrics, hopefully with multiple different confection-themed body styles and many paint schemes.
If Disney were clever they would have Mars, Inc. bankroll the attraction is exchange for featuring their candy heavily in the themeing. If done properly I wouldn't even care.

Yes that clearly makes sense in a section that fit's the theme of TOMMOROWLAND....

If you tear down the Speedway, you can easily put in two rides, one in Fantasyland (next to the Teacups) and on in TL. Plenty of space.

If anything, I would argue that the Speedway already intrudes unfortunately upon Fantasyland -- the northernmost loop is basically between Dumbo and the teacups.

Wreck-it Ralph fits both lands... put it in the Speedway's place, build a Frozen area outside the berm, and maybe turn Storybook Circus into an actual area :p

If they wanted to keep the cars (I'm a big supporter of removing them), retheming it to Sugar Rush would make a lot of sense and provide a great transition between FL and TL.

As for Frozen, there's plenty of land inside the berm north of the FLE. Put a big Frozen ride there, even add the Matterhorn and have that be a winter/snow themed subland for Fantasyland. you would just need to do an elevated walkway (from between Mermaid and the circus) over the access road.

I would feel for the cast members who had to hear that "sugar rush" song all day

My idea was that half of the ride is Sugar Rush (Fantasyland) and the other half is Hero's Duty (Tomorrowland). It could even use a slightly slower version of RSR (34-36" height requirement) so little kids can ride.

I prefer a Frozen miniland to go outside FLE berm since it'd actually force TDO to ACTUALLY expand (New Fantasyland really just got the area back to its attraction count before 20K closed, unless you count an extra spinner as "expanding" ;))

It's also replacing the old way of doing business. You can opt out of things like fastpass+ but you would be at a disadvantage.
Well technically, you could say the same thing about Legacy FP. You could opt not to get FP as many guests did (mostly due to not knowing about it or just generally being confused), but you were at a disadvantage if you didn't. Because there was such a large group that DIDN'T use the system though, we looked at as we had the advantage rather than those who weren't using it being at a disadvantage. It's really not much different.

I think a good retheme of that would be Cars ride like in Disneyland or, better yet, a Planes ride where kids get to "fly"'their own plane decked out like the characters from the movie.

I hated the original fast pass and never used it much, why do I want to go to each attraction to pick up a fast pass to come back in an hour or two and not just wait in the line that is less time than the wait for the FP? I like pre-scheduling a few attractions on my phone and hitting the parks around those times. However, I doubt I'll go to the trouble of using the kiosks for the extra FPs.
