I decided it looked like a spaceship/rocket model and started searching for old styles of rockets in popular culture. Five minutes on Google and I had it.

To add my two cents to the question that the OP posted...I have no clue what it is. To me, it looks like a submarine. It'll probably be moved.

It's interesting that one prop was brought in and just left there like that. I find this whole abandoned project to be odd and fascinating at the same time.
