MyMagic+ souvenir RFID reader

You know those ubiquitous Mickey head RFID readers all over the park? The ones you tap your magic band on to do anything? Think of how magical it feels to see the Mickey icon turn green and give you the world. Well, I think Disney is sitting on a gold mine and (maybe) doesn't even know it. What if they sold a table-top version that would light up at home (spinning white, solid green), maybe with a nice sound effect? I probably sound like a fanboi, and I'm really not, but I think this is one part of the unique WDW experience that a lot of people would want to take home with them. What do you think?

Staples had some success with the "That Was Easy" button, so I don't see why this wouldn't work. They could even add in a 'Magic 8 Ball' mode that would randomly choose between green and blue circles.

Not just powered but imagine doing online shopping and just being able to tap your Magic band at home to pay for things?

No thanks. The ones in the parks don't work very well so I doubt a toy version would be any better.

That would be a sweet way to open your house. Lots of locking mechanisms already work from phones or computers. One can dream... and if you can dream it, you can do it.

Absolutely... Disney could dive into home automation in a heartbeat with this stuff, how many people would love being able to hold up a cell phone to their door and having the green mickey light up??
