My Number 1 Tip At AK.

If you have children who are interested in M&Gs: get to camp Minnie and Mickey around 9:45 am and wait for it to open at 10 am. When it opens, your kids will be able to walk up to almost a dozen different characters with little to no line. It is truly one of the most amazing experiences we've ever had at WDW let alone AK!

And here's a little secret: there's a gate in Camp Minnie Mickey where all of the characters come through. If you see a CM standing by the gate, ask the CM if another character is coming through soon. If they say yes, then ask if your child(ren) can escort the character to their M&G spot. My DD and DS got to do this with Chip and Dale last time - it was amazing!

Feel free to use the single rider line for EE if you don't mind being seperated because odds are, it'll be faster than the standby or even the regular FP line.

Either on your way in or on your way out spend time walking through The Oasis. There are a lot of animals to see and lots of shade. We usually walk around the area for a good 30-45 minutes before heading back to our resort. It's a nice way to finish up an AK day and there is hardly ever anyone there. By the way, there is an animal there that looks like a deer but is about the size of a dog (my wife calls it a "doggie-deer"), does anyone know what I am talking about and know what it's actually called?

My other bit of advise is to take a late morning break at Rafiki's Planet Watch. It's a nice place to go to get away from most of the crowd. Spend some time at the Affection Section and then enjoy the AC in the Conservation Station (and maybe watch a procedure from the animal hospital). It's a nice way to spend an hour or so to break up the day a little.

Tusker House Early Breakfast so that when you are done eating the park is just opening and you can get right on Kilimenjaro Safari or Everest.

Don't underestimate the Dinosaur Digsite that allows your kids to burn off some of that energy inducing sugar filled cupcake that they just had to have. Climbing up and down are running all around that place is great for them and plenty of rest spots to sit down for adults.

Heading for the great escape.
I cant imagine any circumstance where I would need to rush to see said performance, unless they were offering complementary red hot pokers for insertion.

Top tip for AK would be take time to look at the big tree if you look carefully some of the bark can look a bit like animals in a certain light.

Funnily enough, the "doggie-deer" has another nickname: the barking deer. It is called the Muntjac.

The top tip: Eat the combo platter at Flame Tree Barbeque

Strange tidbit: to my knowledge (you can correct me if I'm wrong), this is the only theme park on Disney property where they play Bruce Springsteen and Banarama (in Dino land). Aerosmith comes with the territory at HS.

One less thrill seeking tourist who just doesn't get it or appreciate the beauty, serenity and natural wonder that can be found if you will just seek it out.

I will never argue the fact that DAK is a beautiful park. But they put most of their effort into the "theme" and less into the "park" on that one. I enjoy walking the park (if it's below 80 degrees, since the park inherently adds 15 degrees to itself), especially at night. But there just isn't enough to entertain me there. I go to theme parks (especially Disney) to be entertained. Of course, I've never enjoyed zoos either, so DAK just doesn't really match my theme park interests from the get go. But that's just me - not everyone :)
