Sorry it took so long... thanks for your patience (for those still interested!)

I`ve just finished uploading to Disney Central the following videos:

High quality re edits of

Horizons - WITH SOURCE QUALITY NARRATION
World of Motion
Journey into Imagination

-all re edits feature far better audio and video quality and more footage than the first versions

Plus:

Listen to the Land tribute
Illuminations 1990 tribute
Reflections of Earth multi angle
Fantasy in the Sky 1990
Fantasy in the Sky 2001 multi angle

and coming very soon: Universe of Energy re edit.

The re edits should be distinguishable from the first versions by the filename - all re edits are called `tribute2 by martin`- eg `Horizons tribute2 by martin` and the high quality (640x480) versions are also tagged `HQ`. All other videos now have the filename simply ending with `by martin` - I will keep things this way from now on. Lo res versions (320 x 240) should get to WDWMagic soon (STEVE!! PM ME!!)

I`ve notified RU42 and asked him in turn to notify DC`s servers the videos are available for distribution, so as soon as they pick them up they should be available for download. Enjoy, and sorry again it took so long!

The individual servers will begin to pick up these new videos soon - it should be widely available on #D-C over the next couple days.

Thanks, all.

One question - I told you I had let my organising fall apart - and its embarrassing to ask since I should know - but did anyone see my Living Seas or Carousel of Progress (Now is the Time) tributes at Disney Central??

Oh - I`ll also offer WDWMagic the low res version of my Original American Adventure tribute (The Disney Central version is over 600mb...)

I've seen part of your Living Seas tribute, didn't have time to download the whole thing yet. I can't find your CoP tribute (or any of the others for that matter) off of #D-C

Thanks - I know SirLamer served a lot of them (he is on and off at DC - need someone like popkid to get them!)

I`ll get CoP up today aswell then.

Marni - Go ahead and send up CoP since it has been requested. It was pulled off Distro becuase of space limitations. I will ask the servers to grab it again.

General note to anyone:
I have not had the chance to watch all the new videos but I did manage to find time yerterday to watch the Horizons video. All I can say is wow!

This is probably the best treatment I have ever seen on Horizons. And that is not something I say very often. In fact, I don't think I have ever said it before. OK, what sets this one apart...

The sound is great through most of the ride. And this tribute is not mearly a ride thru of the attraction. You are presented scenes from multiple angles giving you the entire dialog. Also, the wrapping around the actual ride is nicely done (outside, queue area, etc.)

Great job Marni, absolutely incredible work!

Thank you, RU.

Coming from a fellow videographer / attraction editor your words mean a lot (as do the comments made by others)

I hope you and everyone else enjoy the other videos - as I have said before, I could have made money out of them, but any site that charges for access is just covering their bandwith costs. I purely wanted to capture the time and emotion of these classics for those who loved them and those who never had the chance.

And yes, I have uploaded CoP 75-94 to Distro.

Marni.

Anyone know if any other servers have picked these up yet? I'm really excited about the Horizons Version 2 and the Listen To The Land video. Can't wait.

Hi, AliceinWDW

Welcome to the boards, and great name!

Right now the videos are uploaded to Disney Central IRC - not a website, but a hub server (a bit like Kazaa in operation). There is a guide to using it in this forum (digital Media)

If I misunderstood you, and you are using the IRC channel, the vids are now in Distro, a central `storage area` where the individual servers (popkid, SirLamer, Vandal etc.) can grab them from to make available to the end user. When and on whose server(s) they appear on depends on when and who grabs them from Distro.

I also intend on making them all available at WDWMagic, where some of my older versions reside in their respective attraction pages. Since the files can be BIG - Original American Adventure tribute is over 600mb - I send the big ones (high resoloution) at Disney Central, and send Steve (WDWMagic administrator) the smaller file size (lower resoloution) ones. At least I will when Steve PM`s me back. YOO HOO! STEVE!!!

The videos may also appear at other websites, I know they will be popping up at some specialist sites, but whoever takes them from either here or Disney Central is free to do so - I have no control over that, infact, I encourage it - my intention was to make them available to as many people as possible. Just so long as they are intact, with all credits. Any site that charges for them must only do so to cover bandwith usage, not to make any money - that is a condition (that I obviously can`t enforce, but would spread the word about) of making them freely available. I hope you can see them soon.

Martin.

Finally got these!

Martin, thanks so much! I had a question, though. I got the Horizons video, and it seems as though the music/narration is somewhat out of sync. The music is very loud and the narration seems to be "live" with live background music fading in whenever the narrator starts talking. Did I get the wrong video?

Don't get me wrong, it looks great! I was overjoyed watching how awesome it looks and the outstanding quality of the video. Just didn't get the audio discrepancies.

Hi, ryansall!

First, welcome to the boards here.

Now, it does sound like you have my first version of Horizons. If you got it anywhere but Disney Central, it is definatley the first version. I`m in dialogue with WDWMagic right now about getting all the new videos here. Disney Central should hopefully be starting to grab the new version now. The new version should be called `tribute2 by martin`, not `a tribute by martin smith` - the best way to tell is watch the start of the video. After the `EPCOT..Presents..` caption, as the camera pans from Wonders of Life to Horizons, a caption should appear saying `The second edition of`. The original (live sound) version won`t have this. This is the same for all my re edits - filename `tribute2 by martin` not `martin smith` and a `second edition` caption near the beginning. The only re edits are Energy, Horizons, Motion and Imagination for now.

I`m glad you like it, despite the audio (!) and hope you enjoy the second edition even more - the audio is a major improvement over the first.
