This resort I would place in Texas somewhere and it would feature Disney's AMerica and CentralCOT (needs a new name, Help appreciated), both I said in my last post in Disney Resort Africa.

Tomorrow I will begin describing lands of Disney's America, here is a breif overview.
-USA Plaza- a modernized type land themed to present day america
- State Fair- a similar land to the original idea for the original DA, combined with Paradise Pier
- Victory Fields- themed similar to DCA's
- Liberty Square- a original colony themed land, similar to LS in MK, but themed more like the first settlers of AMerica, it will also feature a new type of Hanted Mansion, themed to either the Salem Witch Trials or the Scarlett Letter
- Assembly Lane- an Industrail Revolution themed area
- Toon Hollow- a toontown themed land to the colonies
- American Waterfront- a land simlar to the land in TDS, but more like New York City, a sub land is Ellis Island featuring the Statue of Liberty
- Hollywood Backlot- a land similar to the HPB at DCA
- Indian Vilage- a land themed to the natural america, before the colonists, and Pocahontas
- Tumble Weed- a frontierland type land themed to the Wild West, around the time of discovery

Pleas comment. Good and Bad. Suggestions welcomed. Thanks.

A few more details on my Disney's America theme park.

Icon- Statue of Liberty on Ellis Island

Daytime Parade- America on Parade, similar to the parade for the bicentenial, but with more floats focusing on all of history, not just mostly western, and getting rid of the semi-creepy "child" like characters.

Nighttime Entertainmet- Red, White and BOOM! History in the Sky, a firework, laser light, and water show utilizing almost every type of nighttime entertainment show features. It will include, live actors (Fantasmic), water projections (Fantasmic), fire and lasers (Illuminations), and fireworks (Wishes and Believe) Themed from the beginning (Native Americans) to present day (freedom and still debating to include 9/11, suggestions.) More information and story coming when done describing park lands and attractions.

I know it has been more than a few days since my last post, but I am so busy with school right now, and also trying to rework some of my ideas and get a few visuals ready to post. So if anyone has any ideas such as attractions or lands for either park, please post, I will see if i can fit them in to my parks, both CentralCOT and Disney's America. I should post some info about the first land of Disney's America, USA PLaza, around the weekend.

USA Plaza
(use the map and number on my previous post to use as references and visuals)

- I changed my mind, it wont be modern, it would be more like Main Street, and a small american turn of the century town.
- After entering the park, it will seem as if you are entering a MK park with the MS type style of the land. On the left is first the Five and Dime, a small photo shop similar to the one at DHS. Nextdoor to faD is Hall of Presidents, a similar AA type show to the one at MK. It will feature more about the story of America with speeches from George Washington, and Abraham Lincoln. AS always it will feature the roll call of presidents, including the current one. It will be like what is rumored to happen to the one at MK. Next to HoP is All-American DIner, a table service restaurant themed to be a small diner in america. IT will serve Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food will be themed to be famous american staples for each meal. Finally on the left next to AAD is the Grand Emporium, a large souviner shop similar to the emporiums in all of the MK style them parks. At the end of the street along the water is the Ferry Boat Landing for USA Plaza. The ferry boat goes from USA Plaza to Liberty Square to Ellis Island to Indian Village and back to USA Plaza.
- On the right side of the street as you enter is first 50's Prime Time Cafe, a table service restaurant simialr to the one at DHS. Next to 50PT is Heritage Gifts, a shop themed to america, and it sells American themed items. Then is America the Beautiful, a Circle Vision 360 movie simialr to the old one at MK, but updated featuring famous American landmarks, from the Grand Canyon, to Empire State Building, to the volcanos of Hawaii to the Glaciers of Alaska and to the Florida Keys. Finally on the right is Casey's Corner, a counter service restaurant exactly like the one on MS in MK, serving Hotdogs and french fries. Turning to the left, walking between FBL and the Grand Emporium, you will enter State Fair.

I should post State Fair tomorrow. Please post, comments, suggestions, good and bad. Any and all are apprecieated.

State Fair
Here it the map: http://photoalbums.wdwmagic.com/showphoto.php?photo=36250&cat=3988

4- Screamin
5- Fun Wheel
6- Midway Mania
7- Home on the Range
D- Best Pie
d- County Bounty

- After exiting USA Plaza, you enter a area themed to a country and rural area. Once entered, on the right along the waterfront is Fun Wheel, a ferris wheel similar to the one at DCA. Near the entrance to FW is BEst Pie, a small snack type counter service that serves many types of country and american. ON the left is Midway Mania, a similar attraction to TSMM at DHS and DCA, but without Toy Story Characters, if any characters, it would probably just have classic characters (ie Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto). After passing MM, if you turn to the left, you have County Bounty on the left, a small shop themed to country fair items and type souviners. In front of you is Screamin, a wooden rollercoaster, similar to the rollercoaster at DCA. Then turning to the left between MM and Screamin, you see Home on the Range, a petting zoo area themed to the disney animated movie. Featuring donkeys, horses, and so on. It would also interactive areas where guests can learn to do farm type tasks. After exiting the HotR area, you will turn to the left and enter Victory Fields.

I hate to be the first for bad comments, but someone has to.

I see that you have 194 posts, which leads me to belive you're relatively new at this "design" thing, eh? Your ideas, in gereral, are pretty good....However, they lack the "Disney-ism". You're ideas don't really connect, or you havn't proven to me that they do. So far I see a park with somewhat random time periods chosen, with vague ideas behind them. To do some true Imagineering, you have to give a story... give a very detailed explanation as to why you chose the things you did. Why the Industrial Revolution? Why Liberty Square? (Especially, why is Hall of Presidents in USA Plaza instead of Liberty Square???)
That is another thing... your USA Plaza seems to broad. You said it is a modern day America and the current theme for Hall of Presidents (which it sounds like you plan to carry over) does NOT fit in with Modern America. The theme is a colonial setting, old time feel. Even though the modern presidents are in there, the atmosphere is still that of the Constitutional Convention.

So, in order to impress me with your ideas, you need to give me more reason to believe them, more story, more detail. Plan things very carefully, don't just put something somewhere because you think it would just go good there. Don't name things because the name sounds cool. Everything must be perfectly planned and it must all make perfect sense to guests, even if in the real world it would be crazy.

Hope I didn't degrade you too much, that isn't my goal. I'm just trying to make you see what you need to improve on to make your ideas even better. :)

That is ok. I want feedback, and see how i can improve. Thanks so much. Someone finally gave some negative feedback. I will try and rework my ideas. Thanks again. That thing about USA Plaza is true, I might just get rid of it.

I love your ideas, but I do agree with Wannabe Walt that it's all about the detail... Take a step closer to the park and imagine that you're walking through each land - what do you expect to see, smell, experience?

For example... Say you wanted a Victorian London - um - land (not that you'd really want to go there)...

What would there be in Victorian London?

Smoke-coloured buildings
Flowergirls selling their wares
Fairground stalls with midway games themed around hoopla and hopscotch
A crazy hansom cab ride - could be something like dearly-departed Mr Toad (through the streets of London) or, if you're feeling ambitious, a heavily-themed coaster.

Yeah, my ideas are rubbish (I'll leave the imagineering to those that can) but do you see the pattern of thought?

Also, while patriotism is a fantastic thing, I think that it's in very healthy doses at WDW - much more could risk becoming a bit saccharine and alienating the many thousands of overseas visitors each year.

Part of the reason that the Disney castles are so fascinating to the visitors of the parks is that you simply don't have castles in the US... The element of strange and fantastical is something that really seems to appeal to the American public... Fairytale castles, underwater cities, mythical beasts, wishes coming true.

Another thing to note is the Native American area. This might be difficult to handle with adequate sensitivity, especially as the Disney version of Pocahontas is so very different to the true events.

Love your ideas, though!

Good luck :)

Thanks so much for the feedback I really wanted it. if i can figure out a great way to describe the lands and tie them together, I will post, but if not, I might just scrap this Disney America idea, and do my Epcot type park. I also, might cut out the Indian Village land, because of what you, aurora1982 said. More feedback please, i really like this because I learn more and become a better, "imagineer"

What if i rework my layout, and make the entrance (MS) land and extend Liberty Square and delete USA Plaza. Then I will move HoP into LS, and delete everything else from USA Plaza. I can move The Amerian Adv, from LS, where I had planned, and put it maybe on Ellis Island, or get rid of it totally. ALso, if i delete Indian Village, and expand Tumbleweed, so that it can have a subland indian village, like the old DL attractions (area). ALso, if any of you could help me write a story for the park, that would be much appreciated. What do you think?

Deleting everything isn't really the answer here. I thin they're just saying that your attractions need more storyline. IMO that's what gives Disney it's magic.

I am back with my revised ideas, I will be probably taking longer to post in order to get detailed, or at least try.
Disney's America lands
* Liberty Square
--- Presidental Plaza
*State Fair
*Assembly Lane
* Farm Country (needs a better name)
*American Waterfront
--- Ellis Island
* Victory Field
* Western Wilderness
---Indian Village

(I will post maps of Park and land probably tomorrow)

Liberty Square

- Once entering the park, you enter into a land of colonial architecture and see the Liberty Bell directly in front. (similar to the one at MK) The sub land that you enter is Presidential Plaza To the right as you enter is Heritage Gifts, a souvenir shop selling park memorabilia and souvenirs, many of the buildings in this area and the rest of the land are similar to the buildings in Liberty Square at MK, themed as house fronts and city buildings. (unless specified, the building will be a type colonial home, similar to the ones at MK) On the left next to the Liberty Bell is Yankee Traders, a small household themed shop, with all of the essentials for your kitchens utensils (similar to MK’s). Continuing on through the land you see Ferry Boat Landing along the waterside of Columbia Harbor, FBL is where the guests can hop on a steam paddle boat, and go from Liberty Square, Assembly Lane, and Victory Field. AS you walk along the street you see the Liberty Inn, on your right, themed to be like a small bed and breakfast in colonial America, a table service restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. On your left is what looks to be Independence Hall, inside is the Hall of Presidents, an AA show similar to the one at MK, themed to be more as a Continental Congress, and more of a speech from Lincoln and Washington, than the current president. Turning to the left between FBL and HoP you walk under a “bridge” that connects Independence Hall to Columbia Harbor House, on your right. Columbia Harbor House is a quick service restaurant, similar to the one at Magic Kingdom serving lunch and dinner, including chicken nuggets, hamburgers, and fish sticks. Passing under the “bridge” you enter into the Liberty Square area with the Liberty Tree in the middle of the area. To the right of the tree is Liberty Tree Tavern, a character buffet serving breakfast, and dinner featuring Minnie, Goofy, Daisy, Donald, and Mickey in their colonial garb to greet you. To the left of the tree, next to HoP is Ye Old Christmas Shoppe, a shop themed similar to the one in MK selling holiday items, but mostly Christmas. Continuing on to the right of the YOCS is the American Adventure, housed in what looks to be Independence Hall, a similar attraction to the one in Epcot, featuring Benjamin Franklin and Mark Twain as your hosts. Finally, on the right of AA is the Haunted Manor, (housed in a building similar to http://www.newenglandtravelplanner.com/go/ct/ct_shore/guilford/whitfield_muze.html) a new type of Haunted Mansion, themed to either the Salem Witch Trials or Nathaniel Hawthorne’s the Scarlet Letter, I will make a story line later, but this is just the basis.
- Throughout the day The Spirit of America, a fife and drum show, plays near the Liberty Bell in Presidential Plaza, performs patriotic songs from the colonial era. Also, daily performances of The Voices of Liberty are in the courtyard near the Liberty Tree, singing patriotic songs, and in the holiday season, singing Christmas carols.
- As you walk through the whole area, it smells as if people are roasting nuts in their fireplaces, or just burning a fire to keep warm. Also, between Liberty Tree Tavern, and the Haunted Manor is a small food service cart serving funnel cakes, so the smell of freshly fried dough permeates thru the air.

I hope this is better, any questions or comments please post.

I am working on my State Fair Section. So, I have a question, when you think of State/County Fairs, what do you think of?, from smells, to noises, to sights, and attractions. Please respond, I would like some input so I can elaborate on my State Fair land idea. Thanks.
