My Lunch Report at Tusker

So yesterday I had visitors and we visited AK and I had lunch with them at Tusker, the Nemo deal. It was my second time and before we sat down, I already grabbed a yummy lemon bar. We sat at the back, but it was really the front as it was adjacent to the front door where the band plays.

It took us around 10 minutes for the server to ask for our drinks. I had a Sprite and a ice water, which tasted like typical FL water. I dunno why TS water uses tap whereas CS uses the fitered water from the soda machine (Sunshine Seasons tastes better than the other CS locations) - anyway there also was not that much ice on the water.

My guests went to the food area and I waited until they came back. One of my companions said that they were out of macaroni and cheese. She only went for the "safe" food, the beef, the mashed potatoes, corn dog nuggets, and the cold cuts. When I went to the food area, they had macaroni and cheese so I got some for myself and for my companion.

The macaroni and cheese has to be the best. It is incredibly cheesy and tasty! I proceeded to then fill two huge plates of practically everything on the menu. I like that one item, which was a seafood combo with mussels, shrimps, and scallops. Of course, the tofu with zucchini is always awesome, and the curry chicken over the rice is also great.

The server barely went to our area and we had to wait for refills. Also the dude cutting the meats seemed to have a attitude, maybe he has not eaten yet. I don't blame him.

We also ate every item on the dessert bar, and I made the stupid mistake of pilfering three pieces of lemon bars. Later that day when I pulled it out it was stuck on the napkin but I still ate what I can!

My guests liked the meal except for the service. I noticed a lot of kids there though usually there are not that many, which is why they were running out of mac and cheese. Also, the rotisserie chicken seems gross.

Thanks for the review. We are trying to figure out where to eat on our next trip. We are typically not ADR people and usually just do counter service but we have some time to plan till our trip so we appreciate all food reviews!

I love the Tusker House, and all three times I've been there the wait staff has been by less often than I would like for drinks and refills. I'm guessing they stretch pretty thin. It's not uncommon, it seems.

I have never, ever tried the mac n' cheese. I'm too busy eating other delicious things, I should try that.
