My Little Disney Girl Tea Party

Have any of you taken you daughters to this opportunity yet ? We have PS in December, but it will be just me and my youngest. The rest of the family will be off doing something else and we'll catch up with them later.

Sleeping Beauty is her favorite, so we're really looking forward to it.

If anyone's already done this, I love to hear some feedback !!

My daughter & I were invited to participate in the Cast previews back in early June. The Princess Tea is held at the Grand Floridian.

It was very well done, but I would say best for little girls ages 5-8 as they should still be very interested in dolls & the whole "princess" experience and old enough to enjoy it. There was good interaction by the characters (Aurora, the musician & the narrator, Rose Petal) and very well presented. I was pleasantly surprised with the food (more than I had expected for a "tea") and thought it was very well themed.

What exactly is it? Is is a story time type thing?

My daughter will be 4 when we go in Jan. and loves the princesses.

Thanks,
Mike

is this the one in norway? i was curious if anyone has been to that and thought it would be okay for a two year old.

The one in Norway is "The Princess Storybook Breakfast". We did it in Jan. with our 3 year old and she loved it. She got to meet Aurora, Snow White, Jasmin, Belle and Mulan. I think that was all of them. Had a blast. The food was great as well. I would think it would be a good one for a 2 year old as they are face characters and you don't run the risk of them being afraid of the costumed characters.

I would say to do it.

Hi Mike,

I found out about this one on the official DisneyWorld site. There is a section on the site where you can search for things that are new. Look for the link on the left where it asks you to choose your experience. then click on "what's new." Then expand all the categories. The tea is listed under "entertainment."

"My Disney girl's Perfectly Princess Tea Party "
This one is new and either takes the place of or supplements Alice's Tea Party. Its only held Thursdays through Mondays, so I don't know if Alice still has her party on Tuesday and Wednesday or not.

It is rather expensive - $ 200 for one child and one adult. Additional adults are $ 65, additional children are $ 135 each. If you check out the site it does offer a lot, and it is the Grand Floridian, but I was hoping to hear from someone who's actually seen it. Like I said, we have our PS - ( which, BTW was a pay in full in advance deal ). I just couldn't resist. Its hosted by Aurora and that's Rosebud's favorite. She can't get enough Sleeping Beauty !
She turned 4 in April, so I'm sure she's going to LOVE it ! ( Of course, I expect to enjoy it myself !)

Thanks Anna!

WOW that is steep! I think for our next trip it won't be. We are planning several other character meals and some other nice sit down meals as well. I am already going to be way over budget. I will have to take note of it for maybe the next trip. I wonder why this one is so much more than the other character meals.

Thanks again,
Mike

You get a My Little Disney Girl doll to take home with you, along with a signed photograph of you and the princess, and a few other things. That is probably why it is so expensive. It's much more then a tea. Its a tea with presents! They had a little write up in the Disney Mag. about it. When I get home I'll look it up and type it for you.
If I was 5 again (or had a little girl to go with) I'm sure I'd love it!

For those of you who watch the Travel Channel shows on WDW, Samantha Brown (of Great Hotels) did one on the Grand Floridian and included this as part of her show. It looks wonderful! If the Great Hotels - WDW GF comes on again, watch it.

Sorry, you have me intrigued (sp?) now. Here's another link. Directly from Disney:

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/entertainment/entertainmentDetailResort?id=PrincessTeaPartyPage

Here's a link to Ebay My Disney Girl auction. Not the same one you're gonna get, but you can get a picture of what it is (kind of like an American Girl Doll)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=19220&item=5917690180&tc=photo

And one more website with reviews, and some pictures:

Hope that helps! I should really go to work now....

Thanks for the links !! I'm really looking forward to this magical afternnon with my little princess. I'm sewing her the costume that she will wear, and she asks everyday if its finished yet !! The only thing I was a little disappointed with was the picture of the doll. Since the official Disney site only says an 18 inch doll dressed like Aurora, I was hoping it would be the limited edition one featured in the Fall Disney Store catalog !! ( Now that's beautiful !)
